Quitting job to do an MA Visual Communication course?
I graduated from university 2 years ago with a BA Graphic Communciation degree. I got a job pretty much straight away, although the job is related to the course i do i find it to be quite mundane, the pay is pretty bad and it dosn't look like anything will change any time soon. I have tried applying for better jobs, had many interviews but no success. I think partly the reason for this being that the design work in my current job is pretty basic and that maybe puts potential employers off.

I am currently considering quitting my job and doing an MA Visual Communication course at BIAD. This will enable me to build up my portfolio and focus on more interesting aspects of design. It is also so i can refocus and do the things that got me into design in the first place. The downside is that i would have to move back in with my parents and would have less money.

Do you guys think the MA course will improve my chances of getting a better job? Or am i just lucky to be in a related job at all and should just cope with it?

I think you should go for it! I am starting my Masters in October (in design) and I am the same as you, I don't want to be left in a boring, low paid job, although I don't think alone, the masters will give us this, but it will no doubt certainly take our work to the next level, and will improve our prospects, and it will definitely look better on our CV for potential employers(of course). Otherwise if this is something you are really unsure about, wait a while until you are completely certain about it, or consider other options around this...after all you do have two years+ of industry experience ahead of you now.
