Should I give up on ACA?
Requirements for ACA (as stated on their website) are 2:1 at uni and 260 UCAS points(or equivalent).
I am studying accounting in the uk, but before that i have finished an american high school and some uni there. I am not sure what the equivalent would be, and I am not sure if I got good enough grades anyways from high school. Does this mean that I can never study for ACA, even if I get a first at uni? -
Re: Should I give up on ACA?
If you look through the information here (http://www.ecctis.co.uk/naric/default.aspx) and maybe get in touch with them then they should be able to help you with working out how to apply using a points-based system. I would be very surprised if the fact that you studied your A-Level equivalents abroad meant that you were unable to study for the ACA.

Re: Should I give up on ACA?
Are you trying to independently study ACA or as part of a training contract with a firm?
If it's independently, contact them and ask. If it's a firm, email their HR department with regards to the issue. (or equivalent) encompasses international students- 260 UCAS is only CCC so I think you'll most likely be pleasantly surprised. -

Re: Should I give up on ACA?Yay!
The ACA themselves recommend candidates have at least CCC. Unfortunately, firms can afford to be slightly more selective. I haven't seen a firm asking for less than 260 UCAS points. All of the ones I've applied for have asked for 280-300. I have 300 myself and have a training contract at a top 10 firm
Good luck!! x -
