Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?Right so compared to a tropical island the South East of England isn't that humid, what's your point exactly? Compared to Iceland England is not that cold, and compared to Bangladesh England doesn't get much rain; yet you are still complaining about the wet and the cold weather in the UK.(Original post by hiding12)
haha, you think its humid in the south east? Try somewhere like Sri Lanka, this is barely humid at all -
Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?
Only when the it goes over the mid twenties, since it's like being in a glasshouse when it does. (40 degrees in the Med seems to feel like 27 degrees in England, due to the high humidity England almost always has)
I don't mind the grey skies though.Last edited by No Man; 13-07-2012 at 17:22. -
Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?My point is it really isn't very humid here, I dont hear many people complain about that here, a lot more complain about it raining all summer(Original post by Chucklefiend)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?And my point is that really not very cold or wet either, so do us all a favour and quit moaning or bugger off to somewhere more to your liking.(Original post by hiding12)

The responses to this thread suggest that a lot of people actually quite like the rain. Maybe those who don't just make more noise about it? Like starting pointless threads whining about it for instance. -
It's getting me down big time. I broke up from school back at the start of June and I've just been stuck inside. I've hardly seen any of my friends because no one wants to go out because of the crap weather! Obviously we had the sun right at the start, but that's been it. I've been able to do NOTHING on my list of summer

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?alright take it easy queeny! I would move abroad if I could, its prob 50:50 to people who like it/hate it in the country. Normally, fair skinned people like it(Original post by Chucklefiend)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?What's stopping you? Any citizen of the European Union is eligible to live and work in any European member state they wish, you could go tomorrow if you wanted. If you want hot and sunny weather go and live in Spain, Italy or the south of France, simple as that.(Original post by hiding12)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?Just because we're eligible to doesn't mean we can. I bet it'd be a lot harder for an English speaker in the UK to find a job in Italy or Spain or the South of France. I'd do it in a heartbeat, if I felt I could do it and get a job.(Original post by Chucklefiend)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?Basic French and Spanish is very easily picked up by a native English speaker. In any case, both countries (especially Spain) have very large tourist industries which are largely dominated by British tourists.. so get a job as a holiday rep dealing with British holiday makers and pick up the language whilst you are there? There is really nothing..barring missing family and/or friends..to stop you.(Original post by BoxesAndBangles)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?The kind of job I'd get with simple Spanish or French (both of which I speak) wouldn't be nearly as good as the type of job I'd have here - nor would they be easy to find and it's not wise to move country without having a job straightaway. I'm training as a physiotherapist, I doubt I'd make a good one in France or Spain. I'm not saying it's impossible to move there, I'm saying prospects there are far lowered to being in your native country.(Original post by Chucklefiend)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?I see a lot of people/threads complaining about the heat as soon as it gets a bit warm and sunny, whereas we've had mostly rain since the end of May and this is the first thread I've seen complaining about it (although I may have missed some). We're going to complain either way after a while, but we're far more used to weather like this, and those of us who hate it are resigned to a fair bit of rain in this country! Just not weeks of rain without even a couple of sunny days in between...(Original post by Chucklefiend)

Re: Does the weather in England depress you.......?Totally agree, I especially like the sound of rain against the windows at night, when you're going to sleep. Also, I love the smell of the air after it rains.(Original post by callan)
Personally I love the rain, I only wish it was more heavier, as I enjoy the sound of rain against the windows. -
