    Global Fat Scale
This is on the BBC's website today. Supposedly it calculates your body fat/weight in comparison to the global average, specific countries, etc. I'm sure it's no-where near as accurate as it makes out, but I thought people might find it interesting.

    My results are:

    BMI - 23
Body fat - (Below average) Less body fat than 76% of males aged 15-29 in the UK
(Above average) More BF than 53% of males aged 15-29 in the world

If everyone in the world had the same body fat as you, it would remove 13,723,334 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population

You're most like someone from Fiji

This is quite cool, thanks .

July 2012: I have less body fat at than 67% of females in the UK, but more body fat than 60% of females in the world. Age bracket between 15-29.

    EDIT:

February 2013: Lower than 79% of women my age in the UK.

Lower BMI than 54% of people in the world.

    Nice one .

Although I think last time it went on body fat- seems to be BMI now.

I was always under the impression that BMI is completely flawed, it pays no regard to muscle mass

True; however the "average" person doesn't possess the amount of muscle it would take to skew the numbers. Plus it's pretty obvious looking at someone whether they have a higher BMI because they're overweight or because they have lots of muscle.

This is just meant as a bit of fun :-).

You have less body fat than 81% of males aged 15-29 in your country.

You have less body fat than 53% of males aged 15-29 in the world.

You're most like someone from Ukraine.

If I put in the weight I was at a few months ago, I'd have less body fat than 94% of males aged 15-29 in my country :erm:

No idea how they're working out BF% from BMI btw. Sounds flawed :pierre:

    Re: Global Fat Scale
I would of thought it would ask for some measurement instead of just on BMI

    BMI - 19
You have less body fat than 93% of females aged 15-29 in your country
You have less body fat than 75% of females aged 15-29 in the world

If everyone in the world had the same body fat as you, it would remove 57,353,079 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population

You're most like someone from Vietnam

I guess that's pretty good?

21 BMI, less body fat than 86% of girls in my country aged 15-29, less body fat than 62% of girls in the same age range worldwide.

Most like someone from Guinea-Bissau :lolwut:

Of course, this is a load of rubbish because muscle mass isn't taken into account.

    I wish I hadn't done this.

BMI -31, more than 99% of male 15-29. I've got a bit of a beer belly but there's no way I'm in the fattest 1%!

It also doesn't differentiate between men and women. At 5'7" for example, 8 stone 7lbs is within the 'normal' range. Now, for a woman, that might not be so bad but most men at 5'7" would be severly underweight at only eight and a half stone and could only reach that by amputation.
