    Hi.
I have just graduated from the History Department at Hull as a mature student.
There were only about 10 mature students in my year and they were scattered across various modules. You will have to get used to mixing with the younger students in your department which will bring both fun and frustration. I am a local boy, so my experience was different to those who moved to the area as I still had all the normal contact with my non-uni friends. I treat the course as 'work' doing a 9-5 mon to fri. You may feel a little separated from the others, but a little chat and bonding will breakdown barriers with the youngsters. You will also meet mature students in the library who are studying other subjects who you can bond with. The course is great and a good relationship with the tutors etc will help. With hard work you will do just fine.

27 and just did an exchange year for my third year Undergraduate at Hull and will start an MSc in 2012.

Because I wasn't in the (international) student accom. I was a bit singled out of both the mature - and international scene, but I look forward to getting more involved in the mature students association and I'm looking for a sports club that also has a mature student-section.

I do have made some friends (initially through TSR, actually ) and have a nice and good life at Hull, but it is a fact that it's easier when you're 'young' and living in actual student accom.

The introduction week / freshers week also has some mature student ventures you can go to, such as a mature student and postgrad society which will have an evening with bites and drinks
