Assessment day presentation - LEAN approach !?!
Hi all. I have an assessment day next week for an IT graduate role. On one of the days we have been asked to make a 5 minute presentation based on the brief we were sent. Using a flip chart we have to explain what the LEAN approach to things is, its benefits and risks and why it could suit the technology side of the company to introduce it.
First off I can't find out what the LEAN approach is exactly. Any ideas?
Any tips on how I should deliver the presentation?
Thanks -

Anyone ?
This is the brief...
You have been asked by the Babcock Board of Directors to provide an explanation of what the LEAN approach to things is, what the benefits and possible risks might be of introducing this and finally whether you think it is worthwhile Babcock Marine & Technology introducing this approach. You should summarise your findings and present your recommendations. -
Re: Assessment day presentation - LEAN approach !?!
Despite all the spin and messaging LEAN is just a reincarnation of some of the business process reengineering principles that bounced around a few decades back, focused on IT delivery.
LEAN is simply improving efficiency by eliminating the unwanted and unnecessary, why produce service reports on 500 different criteria if 5 KPIs will provide sufficient visibility and control this can also include revising service levels to a level more appropriate to the business needs in the sense of everyone wants a Rolls, but a mini may be more than sufficient.
If you cut through all the spin and messaging the outcome is generally a finanicial one.
