Try getting a job as a carer. I can't say it's the most glamorous job in the world but most of the companies (whether it's community or private homes) that I know are always doing some recruiting. I went in for volunteer work and got a job offer for the summer as they said I wouldn't be able to do the "good stuff" without being employed.

Hey which agency did you use?
Travail, they have agencies in loads of places around the country, so if there's one near you then it might be worth a look!
I'm not sure whether it was just a case of being in the right place at the right time when I was offered the job, but I wasn't expecting to be offered something straight away. I could hear them on the phones trying to find people for it whilst I was registering, then they asked me once I finished the forms.

As I said the job was only for 5 days, 8 hours a day. They said they'd contact me if anything else comes up, so hopefully it does!

Door knocking for organisations such as Champions Life Academy (there are many other similar ones but this is the first that came to mind) is available to everyone. The pay isn't massive but there are plenty of opportunities to do more glamorous jobs within the company if you do well. You can also play the "I've worked for charity" card in interviews.

Sometimes its more about who you know rather than what you know.

    that's horrible.

stay strong! things are tough, you have to keep going. It's a luck game, keep going and you will strike lucky - I know that sometimes it feels like it's not worth trying. Hang in there
Ow, thank you, that's very nice of you

I will soon move into a bigger city so fingers crossed I'll find something there. I'll stay positive and won't give up

BTW good luck to you all guys!)

Yeah the dailyfail had a field day on it.
Well, it's hardly a surprise that it's the media's favourite thing to do :p:

The army as "back up". You make it sound like G4S are our first line of defence.

God help us all if that's the case
Well I dunno how they've really organised all this stuff tbh, I only really know what I'm personally doing :p:

I know exactly how you feel! Been doing this for the last 3 months, since I finished university, and I only have 2 months left before I go back and no one's going to employ someone for 2 months

i'm sick of looking for a job too. suppose to be working at the olympics but it seems like i can't work there anymore because of one mistake i made in the application. the guy from the recruitment centre said i will only be there for 3 weeks. that gets me really depressed. i've been looking for a job ever since i turned 16. and i'm 19 next month. seems like it was pointless even creating a CV. just puts me in misery to be honest.

For the last two months since finishing A-Levels every single ****ing day I've been looking for jobs. I'm sick and tired of this ****. I don't understand what the **** I've done to deserve this crap. There have been weeks where I have been applying to 10 jobs a day. I've been rejected from cleaning jobs, McDonalds, Tesco and ASDA any other major supermarket you can think of. The most annoying thing is the vast majority of these ****ers don't have the decency to actually tell you you've been rejected. I finally gave in and applied for JSA today after running down my savings to £10 over the past 2 months.
If you're an employer go **** yourself. ****ing *****.

    /End rant.

Needed to get that off my chest and no I don't have a question.
LOL i feel your pain.. try OCS, i think they have some vacancies and you are pretty much guaranteed a job. type OCS into google

Feel your pain guys, must have applied to 60+ jobs in 2 weeks.

The others either require 'previous experience' (how am I supposed to get experience without getting a sodding job in the first place!) or a category of driving license that I don't have! (I have a car license though).

Most of the b***ards don't even reply to my applications (ASDA, I'm looking at you in particular!)

I know how you feel, honestly a LOT of people are in the same boat as you

I've been there - before I FINALLY got my job, I was going out every week armed with a massive pile of CVs and leaving them with every single shop, I was ringing places up constantly and filling in applications online every night. I have straight As, lots of volunteering experience and more, and it was just so demoralising to get nowhere, despite the fact that I KNEW I was a more than good enough for all of the jobs.

It sounds like you've got some really good grades - maybe you could look into tutoring? I tutor French every weekend in addition to my sales assisstant job and it's reaally good pay, considering the fact that I obviously have no teaching qualifications! It's really flexible too. If it's something you wanna know more about, feel free to PM me.

I know you feel like complete crap at the moment, but trust me, you WILL find something eventually - who knows, a job may be just around the corner! Keep going, don't give up, something WILL turn up. Good luck.

how could you fail the maths test? don't you just have to read things of for the first few questions? and for the arithmetic ones you could have used a calculator if they were too hard. Hmm they haven't replied to me yet, how long did it take them to reply back?
