    Using the telephone: 0845 numbers
I need to make a call to an 0845 number and have thought of a way to overcome the costly prices. If the company has a freephone (0800 number) then ring that, even if it is completely the wrong department. They will then transfer you to the department you want and the call will not cost, as the number you dialled was still the freephone 0800 number.

I am pretty confident that this works for most companies. Can anyone confirm if they have found this to be the case?
