If you look at it from the top, and use your imagination, you might see a SLIDING COVER DISC DRIVE.

Couple of reasons why I think this kind of drive might be appropriate-
1) No need for a motor/other parts
2) Eliminates the possibility of a swap magic counterpart being created (if closed tray sensors are within the console itself and not visible from the outside).
Speculated to come in 3 flavours, 16GB, 250GB and 500GB. -
Re: IMAGES: NEW PLAYSTATION 3 Super Slim?I just see it as nonsense, why do we really need another "slim" version, we aren't gaining anything more significant in all honesty............plus if it's true than just a short-term use to drive up falling sales, than the ps4 will come out with a ridiculous price tag(Original post by Hippysnake)

Re: IMAGES: NEW PLAYSTATION 3 Super Slim?Agreed, seems totally pointless when we're 12 - 18 months away from a new console. However, Sony are particularly good at continuing sales of an old platform for a couple of years alongside a new one. E.g. PS2 sold for years after the arrival of PS3. This is probably setting them up for a similar situation. Smaller, so something new to shout about and no doubt cheaper to manufacture.(Original post by Iqbal007)

Re: IMAGES: NEW PLAYSTATION 3 Super Slim?Sony did the same thing with the PS2 which to this day still sells. The difference between the PS2 and the PS3 was the last PS2 slimline came out when the PS3 was released and due to the longer console cycle the Superslim will be released before the PS4.(Original post by Iqbal007)
