Hey don't worry about exams...I got an E in practically everything except for Science, I got an e for maths too and I just did my pilots licence (which is easier than GCSE) Though you do learn through it being a hobby.

Oh there's a thing called Past papers, if you google the exam...and it has answers and questions from the last one. I didn't know that.

PPL or CPL?
CPL [ATPL] is certainly not easier than a GCSE. PPL is easy though. FAA PPL, rather than a JAA/EASA PPL is like KS3 tbh.

Yeah PPL is about GCSE...ATPL is harder offcourse
