    laptops going crazzzzy
right everything on my laptop works fine but about 6 times now in the last week it'll randomly freeze, change to a bright screen, make a loud cackling sound and either shut down or just be frozen and i'll have to shut down manually

i've done a system restore but it didn't work and i can't think of anything else to do helpppp

    it's only 2 years old

i realize this information isn't much to go by but that's all i can explain it as!

Is the "bright screen" blue with lots of grey text?

maybe its dust inside the fan causing overheating, u could always open it up and clean it with compressed air...take it to a repair shop its not that expensive. If u have warranty don't open it contact the company u got it from for repairs.

Sorry I can't be of any help, and sorry I'm gatecrashing your thread, but it seems like there are lots of computer-geniuses on here and I am desperately needing some help! About a year ago I spilt water on my Dell inspiron laptop. It messed the keyboard up so that whenever I typed I just got '/////'. I tried to ignore it and continue using my laptop (although mainly for watching tv) but then one day I turned it on and it said the hard drive had slipped?? It said to put a disk in and it would try to reboot, but it hasn't? This was a while ago and I've been so busy with exams etc I've barely had time to try and sort it. I don't have insurance for it and don't want to spend loads of money getting it fixed. Is there any cheap way I could sort it...or am I just being unrealistically hopeful?

Maybe take out the hard drive and reinsert it, on the side of the laptop opposite the dvd drive, their should be something rectangular outlined which is the hard drive, unscrew it and take it out and reinsert, could be a lose connection.

yeah could be overheating, it always gets hot but i turn it off when it does

it's been worse today, kept going to a white screen but with no noise this time and a couple of times frozen with skinny vertical stripes
only just managed to get on!
it's now a waiting game to see how long it'll take till it crashes again mer...
