They wont accept you unless you meet the requirements so you would have to get that A or B in Maths A level since you're only doing three subjects.
yeah, i know we have to get that specified grades...i'll try hard for that...but im asking whether i'll get any offers when you apply for universities since i have a D at AS Level....also do the predicted grades by teachers matter more when applying to universioties, or the actual AS grade you attain?

Predicted grades are far more important. Will your teachers be able to predict you an A/B for a D at AS though?

I was looking through my year 12 report given to us in march, and my teacher has written...she got 60% and 59% in her C1 AND S1 modules FOR MATHS. but from my results sheet, it says i got 52% in s1 not 59%?
im really confused...the numbers given to us on the mark sheet ...is that the actual mark we got for that particular exam, or is that UMS marks?

    please help me! thank you
i would double check with your teacher because this happened to me on my report i got told i had got so much for two units of work but on my report it said i had got either more or less i cant remember and it turns out that it was just my teachers mistake on the report so just ask your teacher

Depends on your teachers. School policies vary, some will predict a grade higher than what you achieve at AS whilst others will predict the same grade you achieved at AS.

They'll normally predict what they think you're going to get, but maybe a bit higher if they have some doubt; they would rather predict you too high than too low. You will have to convince them that you are able to get a C, considering you have Ds on the easiest parts of the course you would have to show your maths teacher you have made a real improvement, and possible resit exams as well.

i only do 3 A levels- maths, chemistry and sociology...i cant drop any. Would teh universities still accept me, considering i get a D at AS Level maths :/
If you're hoping to count Maths as one of your entry grades, you'll need to do some re-sits of the AS modules (you can make this clear to your universities on your UCAS form, and they do not reject your application just because you're re-sitting a module.) as they will not accept you with a 'D' if they state that they want a 'B' or an 'A'.

Another option would be to do an extra year and complete another A level in a science subject (eg Biology) and try to get an A or a B in that.

I think i can get a B grade by the end of A level..........but i just dont trust myself..how are you supposed to know, whether you are going to come out with that particular grade?
i cant trust myself to assume i will get a B grade by the end, and ask teachers to predict me thath, and then later, what if i come out with a C or something?

i am already repeating my year.last year i didnt do too well in AS levels, so i decided to retake my year...
this time i chose maths, chemistry and sociology. I have been getting B grades for chem and sociology, but maths is C/D grade. I want the teachers to predict me a grade B for university applications, but i cant trust myslef to get B by the end of A levels....i just dont know....im so worried

If your predicted grade given on your UCAS form by your teacher is high, you'll be likely to get an offer, but you're also more likely to be disappointed on results day. If a university gives you an offer for Pharmacy of AAB, (or similar) and on results day you get AAC, they are in no way inclined to accept you and it's unlikely that they will. (though in some cases, universities do accept people with lower grades if their course isn't full. But you can't rely on that for your university place.)

I don't really know much else to say here, other than work your backside off and revise using lots of past papers. You've got to work really hard, and you seem motivated enough to do so due to your passion for pharmacy.

If things don't turn out as expected, you could always do another relevant degree and then do pharmacy at postgraduate level.

Are you planning to resit modules? If you have a D at AS (50-59 UMS) you need to get at least 90 UMS at A2 to average that out you need A grades in A2 units, which will be very hard for you to do if you've only got a D at AS. You don't need to resit the whole year, but you will probably have to resit both Maths exams and do much better on them; if you revise over the summer, register for a resit and show your teacher you are doing well (e.g. maybe getting B grades on past papers) they will probably predict you a B.

It depends, really. You can sometimes persuade them to increase your grade if you tell them you're re-sitting modules or something. I know people who managed to get their predicted grades up from BBC to ABB by persuading their teachers.

Usually though, they will only predict a grade the same as (or one higher than) your AS grade. So if you got BBD at AS level, the maximum your predicted grades could be is AAC. But if you told them that you were re-sitting C1 and C2 (or something) and proved that on past papers you were doing really well and getting B grades, they MIGHT predict you a B.

But that only makes universities more likely to offer you a place - you then have to actually achieve those grades. Which is the hard part!

okay, one of my modules i got a C on, i might retake that one, and get an A in it, then get B's throughout A2 level by working extremely hard, so wishfully it should level out

    why is life so hard....
yeah i understand you, thank you, so infact, im goign to go now, and do some C1 revision everyday and not waste time round summer doing nothing. so wishfully, i can get a B in maths bythe end of A level for sept 2013 entry for pharmacy

i just don't know what happens to me in exams...in my past papers and mock exams, i got 70/75 and 73/75...and then in exam, i come out with a D...i get stressed in exams, so by telling teachers that i can get a B in past papers, as convincing as i would sound, i get lower in exams!
