Re: NewsroomSame, just finished the first episode. Really enjoying it.(Original post by danny111)
Watch this show. It's amazing. Just finished the first episode. Love the fast pace and there's some great characters on there too. -
Re: NewsroomCouldn't agree more.(Original post by dothestrand)
I've read a lot about it being pretty bad, but having watched the first few episodes I'm quite enjoying it. Maybe everyone just expects Aaron Sorkin to churn out The West Wing every time he sits in front of a computer.
Emily Mortimer's voice is seriously annoying though. -
Re: NewsroomActually the show is a HBO production called The Newsroom starring Jeff Daniels amongst others. So it looks like you are the muppet.(Original post by Venom123)
Newsroom's been running on CBBC for ages, you muppets!
Goodbye. -
Re: NewsroomYou're probably more of a muppet for replying so seriously in the first place.(Original post by danny111)

Re: NewsroomThe gag fails on the fact that one's called The Newsroom and the other's called Newsround.(Original post by Venom123)

Anyway, been a huge Sorkin fan for a long time and have been following this closely. Watched all 5 so far and am impressed. Yes, the best bits are direct lifts from The West Wing, just with a change in location, and the behind-the-scenes network wrangling was done on Studio 60 as well, but it works, so why change the format? It didn't get favourable reviews because the people who review the show are jounralists and the show makes it clear that quite a lot of journalists are, for want of a better word, dicks. -
Re: Newsroom
Five episodes in and I'm enjoying it. It opened really strong, wavered for a bit, but then next couple of episodes were great.
It definitely has it's flaws but the best bits were good enough to suck me in and keep watching.
I actually think Emily Mortimer is fantastic in this. Haven't ever watched The West Wing or Studio 60 so it all seems fresh to me ^_^
