Hi, I am an Australian high-school student currently undertaking VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education). I am interested in applying for universities in the UK, particularly the Economics course in Cambridge.

However, the Cambridge website states that "VCE A Levels, Applied A Levels, GNVQs and/or BTECs are not an ideal preparation for most Cambridge courses, where the emphasis is more academic than vocational".

Since I'm not familiar with the UK system, I'd like to know what do I need to do to be a qualified undergrad applicant in the UK? Is there any supplementary examinations that I need to do here in Australia?

Is it easier to apply if I am an IB student instead of a VCE student?

Thanks!
