    Writtle College Accomodation 2012
    Hi,

Just wondering if there are any present/past Writtle students out there..? I'm due to start a Masters in September and not sure what to do about accomodation. I went to an open day the other week, and not going to lie- but the halls I was shown didn't really appeal to me!! Soo.. I was wondering what do other older students do about living? Is there a local village where 'students' normally live- obviously don't want to be too far out from the social side of things? Maybe someone might have a spare room? Do student lettings normally start in September too? I may have a job that requires immediate start!

If anyone could please help me in anyway...!

    Thanks Sarah x

Maddison halls are usually reserved for international, mature and post grad students. They are generally very quiet and friendly. The whole campus is very inviting. Often older students do decide to live off campus in the village or in Chelmsford. If you feel this would suit you better et in contact with Julie in the students union or with Jenny in accommodation.

Hope this helps. Any more questions please let me know.

    Hi,

I am starting a postgrad (Landscape Architecture) at Writtle in September and am also struggling with this decision... I'm not particularly keen on living in halls seeing as they're catered, I haven't actually been to look round yet though, why didn't they appeal to you? But I don't want to be out of the loop if I choose to rent a room, and then there's the decision of living in Chelmsford or Writtle. Have you made any decisions since posting?

    Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, only just seen this. I've been living down here for the last month and I'm staying just outside Chelmsford. Going to see how it goes when uni starts but I'm pretty settled where I am to be honest! The halls we got shown around on the open day were pretty small and likewise the catered thing put me off a bit too. Anyway will see how it goes in Sept!

Thanks Freddy for the information on alternative accomodation.
