Re: NatWest Debit Card Overdrawn
Best bet is to get it back into credit by the end of today and you might not get charged.
Phone them up tomorrow and ask them to remove a charge if there is one, apologise and reason it; they're normally happy to especially for a small amount.
In terms of it being a debit card, when you try and make a payment for something you don't have the funds for, the bank can agree an unarranged overdraft to let you pay. You could always ask them on the phone that they don't do that again. -

Re: NatWest Debit Card Overdrawn
Well i know they do it with my Loyds account, its actually quite handy if youre minus a couple of quid bud need the transaction to go through, as the above poster said though id get it back into credit ASAP as they usually have a few hours to a day of a grace period before they whack you with some unholy charge -_-

Re: NatWest Debit Card OverdrawnIt's up to each bank. It'll be in the Terms & Conditions for your account.(Original post by Jack93o)
By default, is it always like that?
I'm sure most banks would oblige if you asked for them not to approve unarranged overdrafts. -
Re: NatWest Debit Card OverdrawnGet it in credit ASAP.(Original post by chocolate buttons)
I have a NatWest Adapt Account and my current balance is -£32.60.
I didn't even know it was possible to be overdrawn, seeing as it's a debit card.
Does anyone know what I can do? Will I be charged for it?
Most banks will waive any charges the first time it happens. I used to be with HSBC and you wouldn't even get charged the first time you entered an unarranged overdraft. But you may not be so lucky, i have heard of people being fined £25-50 for going overdrawn by something ridiculous like 20p.
