    Getting a job?
I did work experience at Ikea and it was the worst thing ever. They had no work for me, they didn't care that I sat around all day bored out of my brains. It's put me off working forever!

However, I want to fight that and get a job when I turn 16. What places should I apply for and would be willing to employ at 16 year old? What was your first job?

    Thanks!

I know this doesn't sound thrilling or anything but forget about other people's judgements etc - McDonald's/Burger King/KFC take on a lot of teenagers. When I worked in fast food during my degree I was one of the 'older' ones and I was only 19! There were a lot of 16-18 year olds on our team. So, if I were you I would consider applying for those roles.Have a look here, there are loads of jobs going at the moment. http://jobs.mcdonalds.co.uk/careers/full-time-jobs

As a 16 year old you are best applying for 'crew member' roles. Good luck

I was thinking about a little voluntary work so I can put it onto my CV! I might see what the local charity shops think, if they're willing to employ etc.

The Tesco store near me were running behind 6 weeks on checking applications. I sent my application form and CV in about 14 weeks ago, and I only heard from them this week.

    Ah, dreading the interviews!

I'm 16, yes. Well I had an interview for Tesco, and they didn't say I couldn't; they definitely know my age as well. My job won't be a till job..it'll be filling shelves etc. Fun times :L
