New Contract No Signal
Hi All,
I just got a new contract, everything done and dusted. Took my handset back home (which I have been using for about a year; there's nothing wrong with it), with the new Sim in. I don't have any signal and I'm starting to get worried. How long do you think it'll be until I have signal?
I'll phone them tomorrow during their phone line open hours, but for now I was wondering if you had any ideas? Carphone warehouse told me I didn't need to do anything else.
Cheers -
Re: New Contract No Signal
Which network? Check their website to see if any maintenance is being done.
If not read this http://www.money.co.uk/article/10077...get-signal.htm -
Re: New Contract No Signal
If you set up with Carphone Warehouse, it can sometimes take up to 72 hours for the new contract to actually 'come alive' so to speak. Your first bill will be slightly less than it would usually anyway to account for this being the case. It took mine about two days to become live.

Which network?
Check to see if they are doing maintenance.
If that fails, then I believe you can ask for a refund as the item isn't fit for purpose. Next time though, check your coverage before signing up for a contract.
Moneysavingexpert as an article on this. Won't allow me to pst a link though. Google will bring it up though. -
Re: New Contract No SignalIt's an issue of Sim activation, there is coverage in the area. I guess I'll give it the 72 hours. Thanks(Original post by Beekins)
If it's an issue with coverage, the phone will let you know. But if there is no signal and it isn't telling you, it's because the sim hasn't been activated yet. If nothing has happened after three days, then call someone.
