    Greasy Skin
    Hi all,

I have just started my first proper job which means I'm in an office 9-6 roughly. I have greasy skin and when I'm at home it's not a problem because I can wash my face when it starts getting greasy but at work it's a bit harder... At work I've been wetting paper towels and dabbing the on my face to get rid of the shine but it's kind of time-consuming and annoying so I was looking for a better solution. I've heard about these papers that you can use to absorb oil - what are these and are they any good? (male btw)

    Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

You could buy some wipes (clearasil etc) that are quick and easy to use and some are designed specifically to get rid of grease

Sue95's advice is not bad at all.

I used to get terribly greasy skin, but it started to fade as I drank more and more water. I usually have to drink about 3 litres a day to not suffer from it, but it's worth it. Maybe try increasing your intake?

I have oily skin and i have started to use simple oil balancing exfoliating facewash. It really helps oily skin but the it seems for you that clearasil 'shine control' works best.

Throughout the day you could cleanse your face with some sort of toner??

Thanks for the advice so far

Ah I feel your pain fellow anon, but I don't use foundation!

The wipes are probably a good idea. The only thing is that I'd have to carry them round with me and they come in quite hefty packs. So whenever I wanted to use them in the toilet I'd have to get my pack out and put it in my pocket. Maybe this is me being really vain, but for me part of the problem is that I don't want people to know that I have to clean my face a couple of times while I'm at work. Do you know what I mean?

The papers you're talking about are just called blotting paper :yep: like these - http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Skin-C...Sheets_982388/ They're only little so you could easily just keep them in your pocket all day.

It might be worth thinking about getting into a proper skincare routine, if you haven't already got one! I have quite oily skin and find that using a mattifying moisturiser really helps. If you wash your face a lot at the moment and don't put any moisture back in, it can make the oiliness worse as your skin tries to overcompensate for what you're stripping out with cleansers and/or soap. If you pop into Boots there's usually always someone around who could help you out. Or, if you have a Lush near by, they are always really lovely and helpful and have quite a few products that (I think) could be really good for you.

best way to deal with it is going surfing for me, thought it was just the seawater so bought clearasils blackhead control thing, worked a treat... spots have literally just gone and skin always looks good

I already drink loads of water! But I agree, I think that does help a little bit.

Hmm, I think I want something that's discrete which is why I was asking about those grease papers you can use. Does anyone know anything about these or how useful they are?

    Thanks

You can get blotting papers from Superdrug, Boots etc. I actually just use cheap toilet roll, it does the same job really. You know the really cheap stuff that feels like paper? Peel a layer off, blot your face and it absorbs any oil there.

Hi, Someone told me to use mens facewash. I think it's meant to dry out your skin, but then maybe apply a tiny bit of moisturiser depending on how strong it is. TRY IT

    You mean these -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facial-Pap...item4842cc89f7
You can get them cheap in boots/superdrug or even cheaper online

But you really should look for a way to stop excess oil in the first place.
    Do you moisturise?
