Gap year in Asia?
After some horrible first year results and being fed up with the course, I'm looking to take a year out and figure out what it is I really want to do. Teaching English in China/Japan/Thailand would be super neat, but I had in mind that I would work out there to pay for the cost of flights/ living there.
Anyone have any knowledge/ experience in doing this? -
Re: Gap year in Asia?
In Thailand you can pay to teach English there (you don't need training or a degree) & you can go with a volunteer organisation. However, the likelihood of you getting paid is low, & the chances of a side-job particularly slim as they try to get the locals to work, not foreigners. But you'd probably be provided with accomodation.
So, if you already had money, this might suit you
I only know this as I'm researching teaching in SE Asia (Cambodia) & then travelling
