M107 - Motion on train design, barnetlad

This House wants more people to travel on trains and actually talk to people on occasions. This House therefore supports all new trains having compartments, complete with heating that can be turned on and off (unlike buses that only have summer heating) and spaces for cat baskets and coffee cups, as with German long distance trains. Brief Encounter music shall be played before stop announcements, unless the train is late, in which case the announcement must be made in the style of Reggie Perrin'.

Err... I listen to music and stare out the window on train journeys. But you're perfectly welcome to look over my window at the scenery if you wish.

I'd strangle this motion at birth, compartments were eliminated for security reasons. Plus the specification of interior trim and features i.e. cup holders is down to the operator.

If the motion was to include leather sofas, mood lighting and a full size bar, I'd reconsider
