I'm not sure about with the route B ones but the way it worked with deadlines before is that if you applied after the deadline, the universities didn't need to give you equal consideration as to those applicants who applied before the deadline. The application is still sent to UCAS and the universities.

Route B courses
For courses using Route B, you can list up to three choices in alphabetical order. We must receive your application between 1 January 2006 and 24 March 2006, but we recommend that you apply by 7 March 2006 if possible. You will also be asked to indicate your first choice, second choice and third choice.

We will send your application to your first choice, which will decide whether to invite you for an interview and then whether to make you an offer. If you decide to accept the offer, we will cancel your other choices. If you turn down the offer, or you do not receive an offer, we will send your application to your second choice, and so on. We will start sending Route B applications to first choice institutions from 16 February 2006. If we receive your application after this date, we will send it to your first choice as soon as we have processed it.

Hope this helps! It should be ok, just. But any later and your application for your first choice of university may end up being sent out with applicants second choice applications. If you're applying to a popular university or course, it's probably wise to get your application in asap, as a lot of students applying for the same course will have sent their form in a while ago.
