    UKCAT: Abstract Reasoning help
From people who have done the UKCAT exam...I've heard rumours that the 600Q book is harder than the actual exam. How does this fair re: abstract reasoning?

I'm terrible at it. Like, I literally manage to find one or two patterns out of the practice questions in the book. Every other one takes me ages, and I normally get it wrong. For example, I found in one that one set always contained at least one circle, and the other always contained a square. This turned out to be wrong and it was actually to do with the number of sides...I just find it a bit unfair how you can find a pattern that's right but it isn't the one they're looking for

Honestly, I'm quite frankly pooing myself for this section, I'm that bad at it. There just seems to be an endless list of patterns and it's hard to prioritise them!

So do you have the 600Q book?
Keep practising and look at common patterns which can be used, eventually you'll know what to look out for first and narrow down more rare patterns

Yes the 600q book is harder than the actual exam in hindsight but I recommend you keep practicing the q's in that book you will get better at it the more you practice. I was quite bad at the abstract reasoning section too and the 600q book was a nightmare for me too because I couldn't seem to clock the patterns at first but I kept going at it and eventually you will get better at it. As well as the 600q book I really recommend the Kaplan course the 5 practice tests are amazing! Such good practice and simulate the real test quite well. I also did practice on the AR section on other online sites too which I found using google I can't remember them at the moment but if you would like to know I can check for you. I did the UKCAT twice the first time I did it I didn't use the 600q book, Kaplan or other online sites and for the AR section I got 550 (appalling I know) the second time I did a lot of practice using the sources I've mentioned and I managed to get 690 so constant practicing does work
