No driving instructor
So I think sometimes I get the worst luck when it comes to Driving,I have a driving test next week and my instructor is sick because of an operation until the end of August! So I'm now clueless and undecided to what action I should take next! I'm completely broke and can't really afford to find a new instructor and pay for the rental of the car etc,and partly don't want to find a new instructor incase he tries to steal my monies by telling me I need loads more lessons and should put of my test!however I do have my own car and someone willing to accompany me on the day,but I feel as though examiners may favour driving schools over pupils trying to pass independently with family/friends etc :-s

Re: No driving instructor
Did you book the test on the advice of your instructor? If he's told you you're ready then you must be good enough, he wouldn't have done it otherwise.
I don't see any reason why you should have trouble using your own car for the test as long as it'll legal and in good condition. The important thing is your driving is up to scratch. -
Yes I did instructor told me about 2 months ago to go ahead and book it so I did and now the time is near enough here,i have done my test twice in my own car previously so I'm quite worried although I think I'm alot more confident than I've ever been previously! Not too confident though.

Re: No driving instructorwait, you don't have the money to rent the car for your test with a new instructor, but you would have had it for the old one?(Original post by Greenzgal)

You WILL need to pay for the use of the car and probably a lesson just before the test... get some money prepared for that.
If you know anyone who is a driving instructor and would be willing to help that would be great.
If not call up a new one, explain the circumstances, say that you ARE taking a test next week and would you be able to use his / her car.
Also driving examiners shouldn't favour anybody... -
I used to pay my instructor in bulk so I already prepaid for my lessons but he said he won't be able to refund my money until the end of July (after my test date) so I've now got to find money to pay a new instructor plus find the time to do lessons as I work full time

I tried calling the school but I was very specific about the car I wanted because that's what I learnt in,and the pressure of learning in a whole different car make will just stress me,and the school said they have noone available until about 4 weeks time and my test is next week! So I've just decided to do it in my own vehicle now
