    No allowed to resit
Hi guys I think I've failed my first year. I had 3 hard, 4 soft fails. I study Mech Eng. I received a letter saying: You are not able to progress to the next stage as you haven't met the dep regulations. You are now elegible to register for the next academic year. Does that mean I can resit the first year again ? or I've been kicked out of the course ? =/

    Sorry to hear about this

If your unsure, then why not give the university department a call or email them and explain your situation to them?
I think it would be far too harsh for them to kick you out of the course, you'll most likely be given an opportunity to resit your exams or resit the year again.

    Good luck!

    thanks for the reply.

I've been rather silly the past year. I didn't put much effort as I was on my freshers year. =/ It was really hard to get in the uni itself I don't want to screw it all up now. BUT I know I should take responsibility for my actions. I tried emailing, calling them but did not get a reply. I'm so worried I got kicked out of notts.

    Heya!

    Firstly, try not to worry

You're entitled to a resit in all failed modules (except in final year), which happen during August.

Your School may require you to take enrolment on these before sitting the resit exam, but not normally, and it's up to each School how they decide this.

Your resit timetable should be up on the Portal now @ http://my.nott.ac.uk/ under the Course tab.

If you're still unsure, ask your Personal Tutor.

If you think you're not being given a fair opportunity to progress, then get in touch with an Education Advisor in the Students' Union @ http://www.su.nottingham.ac.uk/helpadvice/education/

If you want the technical details (they're not easy to digest!), see http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/academic...tecourses.aspx
