The problem is that Umbreon isn't a great choice in the current metagame. Fighting types are everywhere, and the key users of Psychic attacks (Reuniclus, Lati@s) and ) Don't really have any issues dealing with Umbreon anyway- Reuniclus laughs at status, is too bulky to KO, and can either maul it with Focus Blast or set up CMs, and the lati twins can nuke it with Draco Meteor at +1.

Perhaps Slowbrow/Slowking could be a Poison Type wildcard? Both have had Pokedex entries referencing the attached Shellder injecting toxins, and provide useful resistances like the aforementioned Psychic.

Hi guys, so it turns out I won't really have enough free time to commit myself to this as I originally thought, something has come up (which is why I haven't really posted much in here either). I did originally claim the grass gym, but I'm going to pull out, so the grass gym leader position is open. Depending on my circumstances, I may come back and join as a challenger in the future, but for now I'm pulling out, so OP you can hand over the responsibility to someone else. Hope it all goes well for you all

I'm not entirely sure how Heatran's going to work on a rain team I'll update the OP with your team now

If you want to be a gym leader you need to submit a list of eight Pokemon, all electric except for one wildcard which must be somehow related to the type. You don't have to submit moves, you can change then between games to stop from becoming too predictable. It's being played in the current metagame, so up to the release of BW2

Yep, only the Pokemon themselves can't be changed.

Ok, time's running out and I won't really be able to organise this challenge anymore for the rest of August, so I'm setting a deadline:

The challenge will begin on the 10th August. I want the gym leaders to report after each gym battle who won and I want the challengers to keep track of how many badges they have won (with confirmation from the gym leaders if necessary).

We've got two gyms that need leaders, so if anyone feels like they can handle having two gyms, they're free to do so, but the gyms are also open to new members. I'm also going to add a poll for the server we should have the challenge on now, and that will end on the same day the challenge starts.

Good luck and I hope everyone has fun!

Regarding server choice, last time I played PO we were still waiting for Smogon to update their server to the newest version with BW2 changes. If that's still the case, I think the official PO server wins by default unless someone wants to host for us (which I'd be willing to do at a later date once I have broadband and a computer again).

Have you checked RJ?

Just checked Smogon, apparently their server is fully updated so it gets my vote. I've also gotten confirmation that the new BW2 additions have been fully playtested and tiered, meaning that theoretically the following pokes are legal to use, so long as RJ doesn't have any issues:

-Landorus-T
-Thundurus-T (Regular Thundurus is still Uber)
-Tornadus-T
-Keldeo

I'm having trouble designing a team to use for the normal gym, so if I haven't posted a team by this time tomorrow (2am on 9 August), it will be an indication that I won't be able to participate (I will probably post to confirm either way). I may still join in later on as a challenger.
Anyway good luck with this whether I take part or not.

That's fine, I doubt there'll be any challengers that defeat all of the other gyms that quickly.

I haven't checked because I don't have it - Pokemon Online's own server is probably the most popular, but if Smogon's been updated with everything then that will work just as well.

Don't worry about it, uni resits are the same reason I can't concentrate on this for too long myself.

I'm really really really sorry, but I don't think that I would be able to be the ghost gym leader anymore. Sadly, work hasn't gotten a bit hectic and as a result I won't have time to do this. I've really thought about this and I've sadly had to give this up. Sorry for any inconvenience and good luck with this
