Re: Iodometic titration vs DCPIP titrationThe iodine/starch reaction is a redox reaction; the DCPIP reaction is an acid-base reaction. The redox reaction is better than an acid-base titration since there are additional acids in a juice, but few of them interfere with the oxidation of ascorbic acid by iodine. Hence, using iodine/starch instead of DCPIP will give you a more accurate vitamin C concentration.(Original post by EstebanK0)
