    hugely baggy jeans (skater type)
Okay, so when I was younger I used to wear baggy jeans with vest tops.

Think sort of Avril Lavigne style :

except my trousers were more like this

and I didn't have the strange tie-thing she has going on around her neck.

This is about the best photo I have, which doesn't say much, but you get the idea (yes I had a chain that hung from them)

Well you get the idea - sort of skater type look yadda yadda....

    Soooo 3 questions.

    1) Do I look too old to pull of this sort of style now ?

(recent pic of me - so you can see how what I look like - and I'm not ashamed to say that this particular vest top was one I used to wear with the baggy jeans I used to have.....which makes this a very very old vest top, but I love it. disclaimer - in case it wasn't clear - these are not baggy jeans. These are poorly fitting tesco value jeans lol)

    2) Is this just a ridiculously outdated look?

    3) Am I just an idiot who is clearly suffering from some sort of slightly-early mid-life crisis? lol.

Bear in mind I'm alternative - this is the sort of stuff you'd see a lot of people who were into rock/ska type music wearing back-in-the-day (you know you're knocking on when you start saying things like this!)

Bottom line - I need new jeans. I only have 1 pair of tesco value jeans (nicely demonstrated in that recent pic of me), which fit me terribly (as you can see) and have, as of this morning, developed a hole in the knee. I was considering getting some skinny flares, but a sudden longing for baggy jeans has suddenly struck me, and I need some input on this! lol

    Hurm... I can't comment much; I'm a fashion n00b lol.

    But:

    1) I like the pic; it's so greeeny and peaceful
    2) I don't like Avril Lavigne

I think that style really suits you and if I walked passed you in the street I'd see you more as a cool person than a person have a mid-life crisis or whatever. And btw, I love Avril Lavigne!!

    okay thanks all

just for clarification, I didn't copy avril lol. She became known in 2002 and I was wearing them from mid 2001 haha. I'm a smidgen older than her. When sk8er boi (and consequently her debut album) got released I was already firmly established in my baggy jeans

If you hadn't posted a pic of yourself in them I would have said 'noooo' but tbh you actually pull them off.

oh GOD yeh I know - tell me about it. It got to a point where I would check the weather forecast before I went out. If it said it was going to rain I would sadly wear something less baggy lol.
I proper hated having my baggies getting soaked up to the knee.

I probably am reliving my youth by buying these things but what the hell. You only live once I suppose.

I'm going to resist the urge to dye my hair pink again though lol

Hehehe, that's far too sensible! I don't blame you though... they'd take days to dry out sometimes!

Damn right you only live once. Gotta have fun - what's the point otherwise?

Maybe not go entirely pink (ginger is hot), but maybe one side of your fringe would work - a bright pink streak if you will.

I had a lot of friends who rocked this style (back in the day, like), and personally, I always thought it looked ridiculous.

I daren't - the last time I pinkified my hair, it totally wrecked it. It's the bleach - it is terrible for hair. The colour I use at the minute is semi-permanent non-ammonia stuff and it doesn't damage my hair.

But yeh, you're right, life is for living after all. Just with slightly less pink hair than I'd like lol
