hugely baggy jeans (skater type)
Okay, so when I was younger I used to wear baggy jeans with vest tops.
Think sort of Avril Lavigne style :

except my trousers were more like this

and I didn't have the strange tie-thing she has going on around her neck.
This is about the best photo I have, which doesn't say much, but you get the idea (yes I had a chain that hung from them)

Well you get the idea - sort of skater type look yadda yadda....
Soooo 3 questions.
1) Do I look too old to pull of this sort of style now ?
(recent pic of me - so you can see how what I look like - and I'm not ashamed to say that this particular vest top was one I used to wear with the baggy jeans I used to have.....which makes this a very very old vest top, but I love it. disclaimer - in case it wasn't clear - these are not baggy jeans. These are poorly fitting tesco value jeans lol)

2) Is this just a ridiculously outdated look?
3) Am I just an idiot who is clearly suffering from some sort of slightly-early mid-life crisis? lol.
Bear in mind I'm alternative - this is the sort of stuff you'd see a lot of people who were into rock/ska type music wearing back-in-the-day (you know you're knocking on when you start saying things like this!)
Bottom line - I need new jeans. I only have 1 pair of tesco value jeans (nicely demonstrated in that recent pic of me), which fit me terribly (as you can see) and have, as of this morning, developed a hole in the knee. I was considering getting some skinny flares, but a sudden longing for baggy jeans has suddenly struck me, and I need some input on this! lolLast edited by PinkMobilePhone; 17-07-2012 at 10:18. -
Re: hugely baggy jeans (skater type)Lol wtf.(Original post by pseudonymegg)
you'll look fine, don't worry how you look there are far worse styles anyway... like wearing several hats
On topic, if it feels right, do it, doesn't look too bad anyway imo -
Re: hugely baggy jeans (skater type)
okay thanks all

just for clarification, I didn't copy avril lol. She became known in 2002 and I was wearing them from mid 2001 haha. I'm a smidgen older than her. When sk8er boi (and consequently her debut album) got released I was already firmly established in my baggy jeans
this is so random lol(Original post by pseudonymegg)

Re: hugely baggy jeans (skater type)oh GOD yeh I know - tell me about it. It got to a point where I would check the weather forecast before I went out. If it said it was going to rain I would sadly wear something less baggy lol.(Original post by mikeyd85)
Memories of a misspent youth and trousers that got soaked up to the knee...
I proper hated having my baggies getting soaked up to the knee.
I probably am reliving my youth by buying these things but what the hell. You only live once I suppose.
I'm going to resist the urge to dye my hair pink again though lol -
Re: hugely baggy jeans (skater type)Hehehe, that's far too sensible!(Original post by PinkMobilePhone)

I don't blame you though... they'd take days to dry out sometimes!
Damn right you only live once. Gotta have fun - what's the point otherwise?
Maybe not go entirely pink (ginger is hot), but maybe one side of your fringe would work - a bright pink streak if you will. -
Re: hugely baggy jeans (skater type)I daren't - the last time I pinkified my hair, it totally wrecked it. It's the bleach - it is terrible for hair. The colour I use at the minute is semi-permanent non-ammonia stuff and it doesn't damage my hair.(Original post by mikeyd85)

But yeh, you're right, life is for living after all. Just with slightly less pink hair than I'd like lol
ah well I guess I can't please everybody(Original post by philistine)
I had a lot of friends who rocked this style (back in the day, like), and personally, I always thought it looked ridiculous.
