If you haven't already read it, the Twilight series fits the bill for your 'similar to Fifty Shades' and 'addictive' requirements.

Another modern-day romance (of sorts) that I recently read and found seriously addictive was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - would definitely recommend

Twilight definitely. I know it's bad but it's so good! Haha!

It's a bit older, but I love the Time Travellers Wife. Lovely book that I found addictive and much better than the movie. It's a romantic and addictive story.

Lolita! It's got all the elements of these modern books but it's written so beautifully and aaah I just love it. Please read it
I love Lolita. :^_^: I just read a book along the same lines called 'The Collector' by John Fowles. I think you would really like it.

Goodreads (here) is a brilliant website. You can find lots of good books on here..

I can't suggest any on those that you've read... But there are plenty of good books out there.

and i have to agree with this... xD

I agree; Fifty Shades of Grey seems like your typical mainstream bestseller with no particularly good story or method of writing... Please read good books before calling yourself a bookworm.

if you enjoyed 50 Shades, you may hate Lolita because it's actually, y'know...good.

50 Shades of Grey is a vacuous series, It is terribly written, the plot is nonsense, the pacing tire, the characters cliché " anastasia" the rich billionaire.

Books like these are a plague among the literary world, taking up more and more shelf space. More and More talentless authors are writing terrible stories. (Some parasites are now "rewriting the classics" with added sexual content )

It's is a sad day to be a book fan. I for one am worried about the future of them. If badly written fan fiction becomes a best seller and well written amazing books aren't being bought!

So I'm a recently converted book worm.
I've always found it hard to stick to reading and get bored easily but after reading the 'Fifty Shades Trilogy' and 'Beautiful Disaster, Jamie McGuire' I've found a new love for reading.
Can anyone recommend me books similar to these two, the sort of modern day romance plot? Must be addictive!
    Thank you
    That made me laugh.

I think that practically every book in existence is of a better quality than 50 Shades of Mummy Porn. How about widening your literary interests and picking up a classic? Jane Eyre? Pride and Prejudice? They're love stories that are actually rather good (not the new versions with the added sex scenes in them; there is more to a love story than shagging).

might as well just buy a porn mag, that's essentially what you're reading no matter how you dress it up...

I honestly think that you are all stupid for saying that 50 shades is not a real book. Just because you think this book is all about sex, you think it's no good? This book has an amazing story line in it and I guess you just need to be mature and smart enough to understand the story. Otherwise I guess you should just stick to the stupid books. 50 shades has a heart wrenching story to it and is very dramatic and makes you want to stay up until 4 am reading it on a school night! Everyone has different interests. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it isn't a good book. I guess stupid simple minded people don't understand that..

Hahaha. Did you actually just call yourself a bookworm after reading 50 Shades and ****ty "novels" of the same ilk? They barely classify as literature.

50 Shades is reworked Twilight fanfiction. So read Twilight fanfiction, rating M
