Why can't I remember my driving lesson?
There were points that I drove so badly it was horrific. I can remember small things like sitting a red light and not having complete control over the car and my instructor having to grab the wheel but I cant remember anything else..why?

Now my Mum doesn't want to take me out for private practice
(I've have 35 lessons and I still have times like this)

you just need to relax and enjoy it

you have a lot of driving lessons though, it might just be lack of concentration due to being nervous

I agree with the above post. You have had enough lesson that you probably have the skills, but you don't have the confidence. If you relax you will probably gain the latter.

If you have trouble remembering (and who doesn't under stress?) then you really need to make use of a written progress record. Re-reading this can help to consolidate skills and is invaluable in lesson recaps. Every professional instructor should provide something like this and keep it updated with written feedback.
