Hi

(Bit of a long post, sorry!)

To the Student Finance gurus out there..!

I have just finished my 3rd year of a 4 year MComp course, which is funded by the SLC. However, I have since got a job and decided not to proceed onto year 4, instead leaving with a Bsc (Hons).

Due to timescales, the University said it'd be best if I withdrew from the MComp and be awarded a Bsc (Hons) when the exam board met end of June - rather than fill in a course change form.

Due to an earlier IT glitch with SLC, my tuition fees weren't paid in February and remained 'Approved' and have yet to be paid (The amount of hassle trying to sort this has been tedious).

I completed the 3rd year and filled out the withdrawal paperwork on the 18th June, which is after the end of the semester / academic year.

Looking online I got issued with an Emergency Payment Stop Notification on the 12th July. However, in the post today I received a new Notification of Entitlement from SLC, which states I will still receive the tuition loan, maintenance loan and grant. These letters contradict each other - although the NoE was posted on the 13th so I'll go with this one.

The tuition fee loan is due to be paid on the 18th and 25th July. My online account shows the tuition fee payment as 'Blocked'.

Are SLC still likely to pay the tuition fee loan since I withdrew so late on / completed the 3rd year?

I am at a loss of who to contact, SLC and the University keep offering different advice.

Thanks!
