Re: If it was legal to sell your kidney, would you?Can't play any vigorous or contact sports, shouldn't diet unless its carefully monitored because of some protein thing, have to get tested regularly, can't take NSAID painkillers so when she has period pains she can't leave the house as the others such as paracetamol don't work, apparently you can drink alcohol but she doesn't risk it. There are other things too, for instance when she got a UTI she had to go to hospital and was terrified. You can tell its a black cloud over her head and I wouldn't like to live like her. I suppose if you didn't worry so much it wouldn't be too bad but nah.(Original post by Copperknickers)
Really? I thought you could live perfectly well with one, notwithstanding any complications. Maybe it wouldn't be good for an athlete, but for the average person it shouldn't be too bad.Last edited by llessur123; 18-07-2012 at 02:33. -

Re: If it was legal to sell your kidney, would you?I personally wouldn't because as somebody else quite rightly pointed out - we have two for a reason. Losing a kidney has a huge negative effect on your quality of life and I don't really think you can put a price on that to be honest.

I'm having issues with one kidney at the minute so I think I'd pay someone to take it off me
