2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Maybe the drive up to school, opening the envelope or looking at your grades for the first time.

1. What are you looking forward to the most?
The fact that I'll be free and not have to worry about them anymore!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Having the envelope in my hand. I doubt I'll be able to open it. And of course, if I'm disappointed, that'll be worse.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
My friends, they will all do so well because they're all so intelligent.
4. Where will you open your results?
Just with my friends, at school.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I want a minimum of 5A*s, a few As, and only 1 or 2 Bs (preferably none but that won't happen)
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Art, Maths, History and English Literature (desperately wanted an A* in the last two) -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Never having to think about GCSEs ever again...hopefully. ;D
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Getting up early. I joke.
Hm, I don't know. Probably when I first open them and am trying to comprehend what results I got.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
Definitely TSR. My family will be proud regardless and my friends from school will all be in the same boat considering we all have had the same standard of education.
4. Where will you open your results?
Either with some friends at school, or at home.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
Hopefully; 1A*, 7A's, 2B's and four distinctions. Believe it or not, they'd be in the top ten results in my year - my school isn't prestigious or anything. ;D
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Further maths. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Getting to see the results!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Reading the results out.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
I'm not really at all, I'm quite confident and my friends/teachers/parents are supportive. The biggest fear would be letting myself down.
4. Where will you open your results?
In the school library in a jumble of teachers, parents and friends probably.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I really don't want anything lower than a B. The majority should be A* though
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Physics, biology and French. They are the ones I am most worried about.
Why for the love of god have I been negged for this...Last edited by Dobrzynski; 23-07-2012 at 12:22. -
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
To know where I stand, to plan for the future and just basically end the uncertainty and anxiety of not knowing
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
I live in Scotland and here we don't go to school to pick up results, they're texted/emailed and sent to us, so thankfully I don't have that experience of traveling to school or opening them around teachers and everybody. I think the worst bit will be the few seconds before I open the text, knowing i hold my results in my hand and wanting to open and not open it.
[B]3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results
It depends on how bad they are haha, but I think my parents and family
4. Where will you open your results?
Depends on the great Scottish weather, if its sunny I'm going for a walk on my own through the nearby farms, there's a beautiful spot there that I love, ill sit and open the text there, if its raining then just my bedroom haha
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
The minimum I wouldn't be dissappointed with would be AABCD. The best results I'm hoping for are AAAAC
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
I'm doing Scottish Highers in English, maths, French, spanish and business management
English I'm quite nervous for since I can never tell how an exam or essay has gone.
Maths I've always been terrible so I'm past caring now haha
The languages I really want to do well, I need an A/B to stay doing the subjects I'm doing after summer. I'm really nervous about them.
Bus Man I'm nervous cause if I don't get an A then I will feel as if I let everyone down. I got the year award for this subject and its sort if expected that I get an A but the exam didn't go to plan...
2 weeks 6 days until Scottish results day....
EDIT: sorry just realised this was in the GCSE section, don't know if my answer still counts, but GOOD LUCK EVERYONE on your gcse results anyway!Last edited by Kerrias; 18-07-2012 at 12:25. -

1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Having a huge weight off my shoulders and the sense of relief. That's why I'm so desperate to know how I've done! Then I can set out my sights solely in preparation for my IB diploma in Sep!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Perhaps having everyone circling me to ask how I've done... hate that!
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
My closedt friends, who were aiming for 7+A*s and probably worked harder than me! Would be so awkward if I came out the odd one out amongst them :/
4. Where will you open your results?
At school where I pick them!
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
Not really expecting anything below an A! Worked so hard!!
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Japanese. Writing paper was... well
Biology
Geography

For the rest I'm pretty confident.Last edited by DrumChops; 23-07-2012 at 01:56. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
I can't wait to get my results and have the waiting game over and done with. I also like the buzz you get on the day.
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Driving up to the school and having the envelope in my hand. I had two results to get last year and my heart was literally pounding when I was driving up to the school and getting the results handed to me.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
Friends who huddle around me and hound me about my results before I even get a chance to read them. I hate this.
4. Where will you open your results?
In a isolated part of the school by myself.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
5A* grades and the rest A grades apart from Add Math.
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
History. I know I am more than capable to get an A* in History but I am so nervous about getting that result. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
I am excited to get my results... but, assuming nothing goes incredibly wrong, I'm really excited to get 6th form underway!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Opening that envelope. I already had a crazy dream. I'm predicted all A/A*, but in this dream I opened the envelope and saw a smattering of grades from A-D. I assumed this was my result list until someone pointed out to me this was a list of the Maths grade for the whole year. I actually got A*. My mind likes to play tricks on me.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
The thing is, I can't win with most of my "friends" (or just general people in my year). They always ask me. If I do well, then it's a sarcastic, "Oh, expected that anyway.." and if I didn't, I would never hear the end of it. So, I'm just telling my closest friends and girlfriend, and family and teachers. Sorted.
4. Where will you open your results?
I'm just going to open them as soon as I get them. No messing about, get it done with.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I won't really be happy with any less than an A across the board, and in some subjects an A*. It's not being arrogant or up myself, but I know my potential, and I know I shouldn't satisfy myself with any less.
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Science (my Biology exams, I do double Science) were the only papers I felt I did badly in. They shouldn't pull my overall grade for the year down from an A, but they could, so I'm a bit worried there. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Is this a serious question?!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Opening my actual results.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
My mum.
4. Where will you open your results?
At school.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
Bs
But it would be nice to get As!
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Probably History because it's a resit and Physics because I'm awful at it. I was always going to do crap in that Geography exam so I'm not bothered.
-
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Definitely getting the results!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
The moment before I open the envelope, or if I get worse than expected results then the rest of the day.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
No-one really, I don't think I'll do so badly that I'd be worried about telling anyone else (in a non-arrogant way).
4. Where will you open your results?
Open them on my own then share with friends / family, depending on whose there.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I think I'll get 4A*s and 4As with 2 distinctions so I don't think I'd be too content with a few Bs
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
English is hit-and-miss for me, it could be anything from B - A*.
Also, need an A in Additional Science, which I should get but that depends on how the ideas in context paper went. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Just getting the results, knowing how well/terrible I did.
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Seeing all the smart people around me getting 9 A*s and knowing I could have done better
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
My parents, they're never happy with my results.
4. Where will you open your results?
With my friends, so we can compare/congratulate/commiserate.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
1 A*, 4 As, 2 B's and a C
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
French, English Lit, Science. -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Seeing everybody's reactions as there are some retards who didn't even bother to revise but had sex with boys throughout the exams
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Looking at the grades, maths I'm scared about
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
My parents, particularly my dad I am afraid of, he expects me to do well since last year, many people passed
4. Where will you open your results?
I may be on holiday on results day so I'll read it in front of my parents but I think I'll be more likely to read it at school
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I need at least 6 GCSEs to get into the sixth form at my school so I'll be happy with even Cs or Bs since they are passes. I'll throw a party if I get an A in anything
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Bloody hell, I'm scared about Maths since I had a tutor, but I couldn't see her the Monday before the exam so I went in lacking a lot of confidence. I know I failed Core Science, Biology was ridiculous, and Additional Science, Biology again will be the reason I fail -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Getting the results so I can stop having sleepless nights.
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
If i'm like 2 marks off an A in a subject and I know that it would have been an A if it wasn't for stupid mistakes that I made. Particularly in maths :'(
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
Myself
4. Where will you open your results?
School with friends and girlfriend.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
2 Distinction*'s, 3A's & 3B's
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Science (Bang on the mark for an overall A, just hoping coursework boundaries won't go up). Maths & English Lit -
Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
Well I am just looking foward to putting my mind at rest, and seeing where I truly stand academically and what is next!
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Making my way up to school, the wait to get into school, probably feeling as sick as anything, and when I have the envelope in my hand. Also, just the general dread I am going to be dissapointed.
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
NOT my family. I have given the impression I am really not going to do that great (in my books), so don't go expecting amazing grades. My friends couldn't care less. I am probably most dreading telling people (out of school) who think I am a genius and expecting me to get mainly A*'s (and I know for a fact I won't get near that..).
4. Where will you open your results?
Definatley alone. When I get given my envelope, I will have to go somewhere quiet where nobody goes before I open it. NO WAY opening it with people peeking over my shoulder and being like 'WHAT DID YOU GET'. I will have to give myself a few minutes to read it all alone, let it sink in and see how I feel. Of course, if I am estatic I will want to celebrate and tell people straight away, but if I am dissapointed I will need a while to pull myself together because even if I am personally dissapointed, I don't really want to show it to people.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I am personally expecting 2A*, rest mainly As, 1 maybe 2 B's. So I guess I will feel 'neutral' if that is what I get. I would be happy if I get better than I think I will.
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
Eng Lang, Eng Lit, Maths, Chem, Geog (these are the ones I am most unsure about).Last edited by Coke1; 25-07-2012 at 19:16. -
I agree with this so much! The amount of stupid mistakes I made in Maths was shocking, so my chances of getting an A are very slim. Need the grade boundaries to be low(Original post by jst123)

Would've had the grade I needed if I didn't make those mistakes, but I will just miss it :/

You took the words right out of my mouth haha. Let's just pray we'll both miraculously get a surprise on results day(Original post by Coke1)

Re: Results day. Some questions...
1. What are you looking forward to the most?
The relief of anticipation from your mind.
2. What is going to be the worst part of results day?
Probably people, family and friends judging me on what I achieved. However, also in Core Science my teacher worked out i am exactly on the grade bounday between A and A*, so i hope it goes towards the A* ^_^
3. Who are you most afraid of telling your results to?
Nobody but I wouldn't want to brag either.
4. Where will you open your results?
Will probably be expected to open them up in the head's office.
5. What is the 'minimum' grades which would please you?
I would be more than happy with all grades being A or A*, maybe with the exception of a B.
6. What subject(s) are you dreading getting the results for?
English Language, English Literature and Physical EducationLast edited by _Morsey_; 18-07-2012 at 20:32.
