Looking for room in september?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a room in a shared flat with other students, I'll be attending a Master in the University of Sheffield.
I have issues in coming to Sheffield during August to look for the house, do you think it is possible to find an accomodation if I get there at the early beginning of September? Or should I really manage to get there few days in August?
Just worried about having the choice between the farest/ugliest or the most expensive ones if I arrive late..
thank you!
cheers -
Re: Looking for room in september?I have the same problem! I have exams in August though (illness meant I didn't sit them for the first time), so have to go back to do them. Maybe I could view houses then too.(Original post by vicky-luna)

You can take your chances. I know somebody in their first year who got a house, and her house was on Eccy road, so 30 minutes max from the University, not too far. She could have got the bus had she wanted to too.
I'm a bit clueless with what to do in regards to housing. I turned down living with a friend because I was anticipating other accommodation, but that flopped, so I am now homeless. Hurrah!
Let me know how you do.
I don't think a week should make a difference. I think most of the housing goes about a week before the freshers are meant to move in (as a lot of freshers don't have accommodation, so rush to get any house that is near). So as long as you do it before the 9th of Sept, you should be ok!

Re: Looking for room in september?
Thank you for your reply!
I just booked my flight and place to stay for the last week of August so I'll have some days to look for a place to stay, before the other freshers come
I'll try to get some appointments before.
Really hope to find it!! good luck to you as well! -
