Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.don't you think you should watch an episode or two before deciding if they've 'ruined it'!(Original post by Laurenx123x)
As an avid Inbetweeners fan, all I can say is that I was appalled by the way they've ruined the show -

Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.well i'm sorry but the trailer should be representative of the show. the jokes aren't funny, it's watered down to suit the american taste.(Original post by Mister Dead)

No, it's quite clear from the trailer.I'm not going to try to convince either of you that you should like it - especially since there's a good chance it will be rubbish. It's just very noteable that people always throw their toys out of the pram regarding remakes - perhaps because they feel it a personal affront that a show they have bought into has been sold on and changed. It's not a surprise that people are wary of it, especially since it will have most of the profanity and what have you removed to make it suitable for broadcast before 10pm, but judging how a whole series will pan out on the strength of a two minute trailer is just really silly, especially when it will contain a substantial amount of material that you haven't seen yet. A number of US conversions of british shows have been successful and they were all met with scorn prior to screening.(Original post by Laurenx123x)

I'd have thought that any genuine Inbetweeners fan would have just a little patience, especially seeing as the episodes MTV are about to air have been writtten with some involvement from Beesley and Morris. The pilot was directed by Taika Waititi (Flight of the Conchords) and written by Brad Copeland (Arrested Development/My Name is Earl) which has certainly piqued my interest.Last edited by Mister Dead; 02-08-2012 at 23:15. -
Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.No, Conservative groups like the PTC and FCC don't like that and for some reason those groups have an influence over sponsors and networks.(Original post by Laurenx123x)
they won't be able to be offensive in any way because americans don't like that. it'll ruin the special way that the inbetweeners pushes boundaries of what is considered too rude for tv.
Taking the crudeness out of The Inbetweeners US isn't gonna ruin anything because the show isn't about pushing boundaries(and it doesn't need to) it's just another teen show with MTV like Awkward.
The UK version isn't anymore rude or offensive then what you'll see on FX or Comedy Central. -
