Dear God. Why couldn't they just show the UK version?
The British accent is too complex to understand for the average American.

that is the most rubbish remake, it can't beat the real inbetweeners shows!!!

loool Jay and Neil in the uk version are hilarious, the cast work together so well. The jokes in the US version just seem awkwardly put together =/

oh christ, how do the americans take every single british comedy and american it, i.e ruin it
um it's not made for you, it's made for americans.

listen, the inbetweeners is not classic english comedy or any of that crap. it's not so good because it's english humour. the inbetweeners is a show with basic character build and mainly, the puerile humour which we all love. puerile humour is NOT classic english comedy which so many people are referring to, which americans 'don't get' or whatever. everyone knows simon bird and co were massively inspired by american pie/superbad anyway. i loved superbad.

it doesn't look fantastic, yet it's not made for me, being english. the hate is so stupid. people are clueless and just seem to want to hate on america whenever possible. it's so boring.

I respect American comedies completely, but when they try to copy ours... it's awful

Definitely not a film I'll be rushing to see O.O

MTV is the "Awkward White People in High School Network" judging off all the scripted shows they've had so far.

I might be in the minority but I think the trailer was actually good...

To be fair, it's got a decent team behind it.

Brad Kopeland (who created "My Name is Earl") is lead developer and he's working with the creators of the U.K version.

If you're going to blame anyone for this, blame the production company that sold on the rights for the series to be recreated.

I just don't think British style humour coverts well enough when it comes to them remaking our shows.
It's also strange the way when they remake our shows they do it almost word for word, scene for scene. Over here we'd just show the original and already successful version of a show rather than bother remaking it.

Also, how's Jay going to make fun of "fattys" when he's not so slim himself?!

But they haven't even thought of anything new, they've literally copied every single episode line for line, action shot for shot but have just transferred over the characters. Bastards.

That Sherlock doesn't look too bad actually. It's got nothing on the original but I'd still watch it.

    All of this.

If anything it shows that what is effectively 'toilet humour' does not translate very well when spoken in a different accent.

Its much worse to see classic British comedy, ala Only Fools and Horses, Americanised. I don't see what the point in that is at all. What about that could they keep? Everything is quintessentially British. Rodney you plonka!
