Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.
MTV just needs to stop producing shows. They should just replace all their programming with reruns of Boy Meets World, Saved by the Bell, and Daria.
As for Americans liking British sitcoms...it really depends. When BBCAmerica takes breaks from their 20-hour Top Gear marathons, they'll occasionally show some British sitcoms. Some of them I love to death, others...kinda fall flat. -
Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.Ah well, obviously they must make a decent amount otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it again and again. It's sad because original American TV can be brilliant. But I guess this is MTV...(Original post by ForensicShoe)
Try telling that to the networks that churn out remakes of UK programmes year after year. It's never going to stop, there's too much money floating around

Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.
It just seems lazy that they have literally copied every scene. It'll most probably lack the banter, wit and sarcasm as well which really helps drive the show and it'll be replaced by the more direct, obvious American 'humour'.
The dislike bar is more funny than the video. -
Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.
If you didn't know the title of this then it wouldn't look too bad for a US teen show. I'm not saying I'd watch it but I probably wouldn't knock it.
But it is called "The Inbetweeners". And unfortunately, this programme is not and never will be anything like The Inbetweeners so calling it "The Inbetweeners" makes it potentially the worst remake ever.Last edited by notnek; 18-07-2012 at 15:02. -

Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god.Yeah pretty much. The slang and insults are about right, just remember the characters are taken to extreme. It's not often you'd meet someone like jay spewing them out every sentence 24/7.(Original post by Azland)
Just wondering as an international but do people in the UK talk and act like how its depicted in the Inbetweeners? By talking I'm obviously not referring to the accent. More to do with the words of choice and the insults etc. -
Re: The Inbetweeners (US version) trailer. Oh god. From my experience, the insults are fairly accurate, with a lot of people I know who swear a lot like in the show, but obviously there is exaggeration (like Jay, although I have met someone similar to him, but not everyone is obsessed with sex the way he is!)(Original post by Azland)

The sixth form life is also quite accurate and I would say there are 'inbetweeners' in real life sixth form. But each character is exaggerated, aside from Simon I think who is the most 'normal'.
But that's what i've just found, I guess it depends on who you ask as everyone has had different experiences of education and their growing up!
