I want to contact an author...
    Hi guys,

As part of some NFP work, I'd like to contact an author called Andrew Martin, author of The Somme Stations and The Baghdad Railway Club.

Anyone have any idea how I can go about doing this?

He's also a journalist for a few british papers.

Here's his profile on the guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/andrewmartin

Maybe I could guess an e-mail addy from that?

Snail mail C/O the book publisher address works afaik.
People pretty much ignore email from people they don't know ime.

It's easy enough to contact serial killers so should be the same for authors, one would believe

With a common name like Andrew Martin I wouldn't risk that if I were you. Plus even then you wouldn't know whether he actually uses that email account. I'd say going via the publisher would be easiest. Make sure it's clear what it is that you would like to contact him about, though.
