Nothing yet - I use my earphones with my computer and phone for now but when I have the money I'll probably start with an iPod touch and get a nice healthy sound card for my comp.
Haha fair enough, have you considered a portable DAC/amp combo rather than a dedicated sound card your PC? It would give you versatility as you could use it as an amp with the iPod when paired with an LOD.

Hey, could you guys help me out?
Basically, I want a decent pair of earphones that will last me at least a year. I'm looking at a budget of about £50 (no more). I mainly listen to classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc.) so I don't really want a pair of very bass-heavy headphones. Any suggestions would be great

I really don't like beats. It wouldn't be too bad if they weren't marketed as a superior headphone. They're really not worth the money.
Especially when a lot of people who have them now think they're an expert in headphones.

I've got a pair of Shure e2cs, which I really like but recently the insulation has split on one of the leads so I don't think they're going to last much longer, at least not outside the house. A shame as they're a nice pair of earphones, but I can't get a decent repair to hold. I got a pair of cheap Denons (£20 or so) to use while I try and figure out what I might replace the Shures with, and they're really not bad - less detail, particularly in the mid-upper range, but a bit more thump to the bass. I've also got a pair of Sennheiser HD465s which I managed to pick up for about £35 - I can't use IEMs for more than a couple of hours before they start to irritate my ears. They're not bad, could probably do with being a little easier to drive though. Currently they're mainly used on my electronic drum kit, and they could definitely use some more bass response for that.
At some stage I'll get round to replacing the Shures, but I mainly use my iPhone (hey, my ears are pretty crap to start with) and I managed to drop it and bend the casing so I can't get a jack in anymore!

 that last bit is so true, they think they are so knowledgeable until they realise all studios including Dr.Dre's himself don't use those headphones

They're dead useful for listening to really talented guys like Skrillex of course... They're SO worth the money.

    (All of that was sarcasm)

I think they look pretty ridiculous as well...

If science stumbles upon evidence of God (most discoveries have been by accident), I'll look at the evidence, and draw a conclusion.

Until then, there isn't any evidence. That's the end of the discussion among scientists. No evidence, no debate.
looool, a bit off topic, no?

We're talking about headphones here mate, I don't see the connection!

Sennheiser HD 25-1 II (£140) and Sennheiser HD 25-1 II SP (£100). Was thinking about some in-ears to replace my stock Samsung headphones but they're not needed too much at the moment. The HD-25's sound great with rock music.

I love these. Prior to purchasing them, I hadn't spent - or even thought about spending - more than £10 on a pair of earphones. However, having enjoyed these for over 6 months, I will be using high-end earphones in the future.

now I'm looking to get Yamaha EPH-100s. They aren't easy to find in the UK but I found them. I've got to say I can't wait, I'm wearing cheap almost-knackered back-ups right now and they're absolutely slaughtering Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. :puke:

I own Dr Dre Beats (not my choice, birthday present) and I have to say they're pretty poor...the sound is clear but there's almost no bass, and any synth sounds kinda too high pitched and like it's coming from one of those cheap headphones you get free on a city bus tour. I was not impressed, my £12 earbuds make all my music sound better.

    I've never posted here.

    **** the hackers!

EDIT: I use Dr. Dre's beats. They keep falling out of my ears, so I hate them.

The Studio ones....I was really looking forward to trying them out, but then was like "oh, is that it?". Maybe I like my music to sound more boomy than crisp, but they're definitely not worth the money.

Only site in the entire country that sells them. A lot of earphones are widely available on multiple sites.
