Girls, would my scars put you off?
Basically I made a post a few months back about how I developed keloid scars. I was only 15 when it happened. I have now had them for 9 years and have just about every treatment available under the sun from laser treatment, all kinds of cream and steroid injections, bio oil. The dermatologist just said there isn't much to do.

I haven't been on swimming in the sea for about 10 years and dont take many summer holidays. Obv I am very ****ing sick of them and have developed BDD largely due to them. I am naturally tall and slim but feel pretty depressed that Im supposed to be in my physical pomp and no one else seems to have these scars that I know.

I dont actually get keloid scars themselves anymore as I went on roaccutance 3 years ago but I do still get spots occasionally which leave small, red scars. Anyway, photos below. Apologies for bad photos, couldn't really think of other way of doing it. Would they bother you much?

They would not bother me AT ALL. Any girl who is bothered by something so insignificant is not only mad, but not worth it.

really? I mean they're so noticeable, think cos I see them everyday they might seem worse to me, as they're stuck in my head. Its just annoying cos no one else seems to have keloid scars, they're pertty rare and more typical in dark skin people

I'm a girl, I'm not bothered by them. I know sometimes people get things about their own body into their head and think that everybody will care/notice them but they don't! You seriously have nothing to worry about.

    Yes, really
I know what you mean. Have you ever been in a situation where you have a spot on your face and you think it is big because you are so aware of it, but other people can't even see it?
    This is like that.
I can't imagine them bothering anyone, but I do get why it would be annoying for you. You have a good build, imo, and this is all girls judging your appearance will really notice, so there is nothing to worry about

you know, it's like how some girls are really self-conscious about their bodies. my cousin has scars left from chest and back acne and she swore never to wear a low cut shirt or outfits with low cuts at the back. think about it. if you meet her, would you mind her physical flaws over her personality? she's a really sweet person and it's depressing to see her suffering from low-self esteem

Personally, it wouldnt bother me but then again look at my body. It is depressing to know that Im in my physical peak, mid 20's and yet Im never going to look my best cos of these ****ing scars which im powerless to. It would not stop be wanting to go out with her if she had a good personality tbh

yeah that's true as well but think of all those who are in their mid 20s without a limb or with burn scars on their faces and i'd think compared to them you're a lot luckier. for all we know they could be out there helping people that are even more unfortunate than them instead of dwelling on their own shortcomings. i have this strange belief that no one is perfect and there will always be some other aspect of a person that will make up for their shortcomings in life. if a girl cannot accept you for who you are, her loss, but first you have to learn to love and live with yourself. every girl likes a guy who is confident about themselves because then they can give the girl a sense of security. that's my opinion of it, btw.

don't be so hard on yourself!

Not in the slightest, like someone above said if a girl is getting caught up about something so so minor then they aren't worth it. I wouldn't even flinch.

ok cheers for that, it just upsets me the fact that there's nothing which can be done anymore, like there is no prospect of having clear skin on chest or back. I know that people have worse problems so I should just suck it up
