What about immigration from eastern European countries, there is a very high number of Polish people in this country taking all the jobs. Before the eastern European countries joined the EU, unemployment wasn’t high at all. And for Muslims, most of them came here during the world wars to fight for this country. You are probably brain washed by the US and the media, let’s be honest before 9/11 there weren’t a single mention of Muslim terrorists. Muslims are discriminated against and non-Muslims mostly see Muslims as terrorists which is sad. It’s time people used common sense and stopped listening to the crap that the media makes about Muslims. There are loads of good Muslims around.

Well, I intend to finish uni and make my way into Parliament and call for a very, very strict immigration cap amongst other things. Thank goodness I was born here - for I wasn't born here in order to see this country turn into one where gunfire erupts every night or bombs go off every other day or mosques line towns and cities or lawlessness is rife.

Now, I'm not saying all immigration is bad. Of course not. But right now, the type of mass immigration we're seeing is bad for the country and future - it's not as if we're seeing mass immigration of exceptional doctors, lawyers, engineers and whatnot. Such immigration was seen after the second-world war and in those subsequent centuries.

And all of this multicultural madness is further annoying - and I don't even know what it is. What is multiculturalism even?

Who here agrees with me?

P.S. I didn't want to derail the thread by mentioning Islam - my talk of Islam only came by chance and should not be greatly central to the discussion. The main issue here is mass immigration.

EDIT: Really, I will clarify my position and go further and say that the great harm of mass immigration is the large influx of poor immigrants. To be sure, they indeed are the problem. Therefore, it is not mass immigration per se, but actually large numbers of poor immigrants entering the country. This is a problem. Couple it with the aggressive expansion of Islam and Britain has a problem (a greatly increasing one).

So what gave your parents more of a right to move here than any other family now?

By British, you mean White? If so, I've been taught by a fair few teachers, naturally considering that primary school teachers changed at least yearly. Some were Asian, and some were White. Does that bother you?

I know. It might be a tricky one. I would however definitely trust the local mosque to organise an event with a range of non-alcoholic drinks.

Incidentally, you may be able to get access to 'World Domination Weekly' through your University. I know I can get the on the FT website, so I expect it's pretty much the same sort of thing.

As a 2nd generation immigrant I've always found this question hard to answer. My family came to Britain for refuge and I'm glad I've grown up here. My parents would fall into your 'poor immigrant' category, but they came here to give my siblings and I an education and a better life. As an immigrant, how can I refuse other immigrants seeking refuge in Britain?

Also, what 'aggressive expansion' of Islam? 0_0 You make it sound like the Britain is turning to an Islamic state. Look around you, is the mass population suddenly converting to Islam? Are Britons living under Islamic law? Your fear of Islam is actually your fear of the immigration of people from the Middle East, who carry their beliefs with them. Believe it or not, the majority of Muslims who live in Britain get on with their lives quite normally, along with everyone else. Terrorism of the past decade has come from socio-political reasons, in which single groups have decided to use violence to solve their problems, but you don't hear about that. Instead you only hear that these groups have done it as 'jihad' or for 'Allah' because the media wants you to. I'm not saying it justifies the violence - killing innocent people can never be justified, but it's more complicated than you think; also, your thought of Islam being an 'enemy' won't last forever. As history shows us, sooner or later some other group or peoples will be seen as an 'enemy'.

FYI = The idea of the 'Mahdi' in Islam, is simply the Islamic belief that a few decades before the Day of Judgement the 'Mahdi' (redeemer of Islam) will rule and bring back peace and justice to the world. (This follows a period where Islam isn't present in the world).
