Re: MATHS STUDENTS: how do you organise your lecture notes?
I take rough notes during the lecture and then go through and re-write neatly and thoroughly later that same day. I find if I do this it re-enforces the messages and makes me re-think about the teaching.
This might seem duplication but it means I fully revise the last lecture before going to the next one.
I didn't do this in year 1 and in some subjects got behind and once behind there is no catching up.Last edited by msmith2512; 18-07-2012 at 22:23. -

Lever arch files are your friend. -
Re: MATHS STUDENTS: how do you organise your lecture notes?Depending on how verbose you're likely to be. I used one per term for lecture notes/handouts only, and one per term for supervision work. You might find that you need one file per course.(Original post by buttermints)

Re: MATHS STUDENTS: how do you organise your lecture notes?but is it annoying to have a separate place for handouts and exercises?(Original post by DrSheldonCooper)
put everything in a Pukka pad - like a notebook -
Re: MATHS STUDENTS: how do you organise your lecture notes?the reason i used a pad is because my writing and note-keeping is just hideous - so at least if it`s in one place i never lose it(Original post by buttermints)

Re: MATHS STUDENTS: how do you organise your lecture notes?
I take notes on A4 narrow ruled and then file them in a separate folder for each module. I can usually get each lecture on two sides of paper (I write small) so it works out nicely.
I put problem sheets and solutions in the front of each folder.
