Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELP
When you say "Napier is for second year whereas Glasgow is for first" are you talking about transferring?
If so, I would think that just sticking with your decision and staying at Napier would make sense :sLast edited by QuirkyDoDo; 18-07-2012 at 22:28. -

Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELP:s How does that work? What kind of course is it that you are doing?(Original post by supernature)
I got into second year of Napier and first year of Glasgow -
Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELPI think OP means that some courses offer "entry point 2" so you can actually just skip the first year if you are good enough(Original post by QuirkyDoDo)

If glasgow is your insurance, you should be able to get napier to like withdraw there offer if you like all concent with UCAS, but if napier know you dont want to go there, i don't see why they would refuse to move your offer? Also if not, ring Glasgow and explain, see what they can do for you

Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELPSee I declined Glasgow's offer because I was almost certain I did not want to move away, however now I have decided that moving away would be beneficial for me. And yes that is what it means, I got into entry point 2 for Napier.(Original post by sarahlabrosse)

Also let's be honest between the two universities, from the league table there is such a huge difference between the two. -
Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELP
You could be abit buggered if you rejected glasgow completley
? Try giving them a ring, explain your situation, they may have failed to take on enough people for the course if you are majorly lucky? what course is it? If not you could always check clearing on results day, maybe dundee could be an option if you don't want to move to far, like to england, but stay relativly close too edinburgh?
Does that mean Glasgow is alot higher or lower?? Glasgow is my insurance, but i haven't even consulted the league tables! hahaha! -
Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELPPsychology, I know I am tomorrow but it is so annoying. Glasgow is around 17 I think on the league table and Napier is like 98 or something haha(Original post by sarahlabrosse)

I'd stick with Napier tbh. First year psych is easy as, and you get plenty of work in second year to 'learn to write academically' so its kind of wasting a year at Glasgow. Although with Napier higher up the league tables, you might prefer Glasgow. I haven't heard of any employers asking this but someone could always ask you which unis you applied to and why you chose to go to Napier rather than Glasgow.

Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELPThank you, might see you around, you never know(Original post by sarahlabrosse)
ohh i had a look around glasgow university at the psychology and science departments! i've not seen napier though obvvs
, hmmmm, well glasgow is my insurance, but not for psychology
, anyway yeh, goood luck!
, although I hope you get into your firm

Re: Really annoyed at myself, could I ask to switch? PLEASE HELPWould you say employers look for work experience rather than what university you went to, because for Napier it is a sandwich degree (so in 3rd year I will get a job placement for a year)(Original post by linzico)
