If an exam is hard, do the overall grade boundaries go down?
I took AQA GCSE French this year and the listening was HARD. Even A grade students found it difficult. Last year the overall to get a C was 180. Will it go down even more if that exam was hard or will it stay the same?

If they see that the general spread of marks are lower than previous years, then yes, general practice is to lower the boundaries accordingly.

If it's harder than previous years then yes, it is likely that grade boundaries will go down. But there's no point in worrying about the grade boundaries, just enjoy the summer holidays

It will still be 180UMS for a C, but if an individual exam was hard then the conversion from the raw marks to the UMS marks will be more generous.

it depends really, if people all over the country found it hard then the overall grade boundaries go down, and i heard about that, my friends took their 2012 french exam and they found it hard too
