Comparing between dumbell and barbell lifts.
Is there a rough estimate as to how much more it's possible to lift on a barbell than the same lift with DBs, like a percentage or what not? I'm doing 27.5 a side chest press x5 and was wondering what I could get out of 5 reps on a barbell.

Re: Comparing between dumbell and barbell lifts.
There is a general idea that you can lift more weights training with barbells than dumbbells. You don't need to balance a lot of the weight when using barbells compared to dumbbells but if you never did barbell bench press before, you will most likely lift slightly less weight than you did with dumbbells since the movement and feel is totally new to you. But with proper training and adaption, your barbell bench press will catch up with your 55kg dumbbell press (27.5kgx2) in a short period of time.

Dumbbell lifts will generally be around 80-90% of what you can do with a barbell.
