Cutlery, Pot and Pan, Dishtowel, Mug, Glass, Plates and Bowl, Baking tray- Basic kitchen.
Pillow covers, Duvet, Bedsheets, Blanket- Basic Bedding.
Tv, Laptop, Speakers, Printer, Multiplug Adapter- Basic electronics.
Clothes, Uni books, Pen and Paper, Personal hygiene stuff- Everything else.
That's pretty much all I'm bringing this year (3rd year). So much stuff never gets used. -
Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
Since the sales may end before I get my results my mum has already gone crazy.
This goes from a £15 iron down from £30 - to about a billion bottles of Listerine down to 99p each (from Superdrug)
Still got a couple of stuff when I actually get there like extra storage and such.Last edited by King James; 19-07-2012 at 16:46. -

Loving the cutlery set!
I think I'll do my shopping once I get my results...can't jinx it!
I thought this but if we don't get into uni, we could always save the stuff for when we eventually do move out

Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
I have everything I need with the exception of a modem. Someone said they have a million bottles of Listerine, I'm not bothering with stuff like that until I get there; my lovely, generous mum said she will take me shopping for food etc once we drop all of my stuff off

Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
My housemates always bring too much of everything, plus our house is fully kitted-out already, so this time I'm limiting it to:
Clothes and shoes, toiletries, my special wok (it's great for cooking anything!), my huge mug, fairy lights, cushions for my bed, photos, sheepskin rug, books (both for my degree and general reading for pleasure), my slow cooker, stationary, laptop, phone, extention leads, diary, handbag, car, bed linen, my pillow (it's big and german-sized and amazing).
That's about it. Everything else (food, drink, household cleaning stuff, bin bags etc) I'll get when I'm there and we do a big shop.Last edited by Pandabär; 21-07-2012 at 23:14. -
Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
So far I've went on the first of probably many Ikea trips, I bought one of those graters with a tub to catch the stuff, six glasses (They were on sale), a wardrobe hanging storage thing, a pot plant and a couple of throws. As well as the Ikea stuff, I got a toaster, kettle, lamp, mini iron, hair dryer, straighteners, sandwich toaster, cushions and a TV. Getting quite excited now

Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
Shopped for most things at IKEA today - they have some great deals!
Some of the best bargains -
I picked up a 16 piece cutlery set - called BONUS - for only £1.59!
A small frying pan (STEKA) for £1.85
Pot stand (NORDBY) 80p
6 lightweight glasses (VANLIG) for £3.59
Pizza cutter (STAM) for 85p
3 pairs scissors (TROJKA) for 99p
Plus hanging storage for £7.99 to put in my wardrobe - large compartments for t shirts, jeans and jumpers. I already have one for shoes.
I love IKEA! -

Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
In general I pretty much need to get all my stuff. I'll be buying clothes next weekend, two pairs of jeans I've been wanting for ages and then a plain pair, I have some pairs just now that'll be ok for every day use too. I've bookmarked some tops, t-shirts and shirts and I'll have a wee look for a dress for the freshers ball, I have a dress I really like so I might just wear that. Then I'll get cooking stuff - cutlery, plates, glasses etc. I have a mini fridge I'm considering taking with me for my room and my parents old foreman grill for toasties. :P I'll most likely go to B&M for all the cooking things. I'll need to get a quilt too. I have a bunch of posters I'll be taking with me.
Oh and a definite IKEA trip for sure, I would like to get those hanging compartments for random junk.
I can't really think of anything else, I just know I don't have anything yet :P I move into my accommodation on the 8th September so panic is starting to sink in!Last edited by Ocarinaoftime; 21-07-2012 at 23:35. -
Re: What have you bought/are you planning to buy for uni?
I'm going back into campus accommodation for my final year. I didn't really customise my room much in first year beyond bedspread, posters and nick-knacks, so I'm making up for it now. I got some cheap fairy lights from Ikea, cushions and some postcards from various holidays.
My pots have got a bit manky and I've lost one of the lids, so I'm deliberating on whether to buy some new ones or stick it out for another year. I could do with a new washbasket as well. Maybe a towel. -
