Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
I tend to go about my every day life as if I were being watched.
If that's not strange enough for you, it's never just generally 'being watched'. I tend to imagine that it's as if one specific person (it changes day to day, but it's always someone I know in real life) were seeing my life through my eyes. It's weird as hell, but it's interesting to see how much I alter my behaviour depending on who's 'watching'.
I've done this unconsciously for years and it's only in the past 3 or 4 years that I've even really noticed it.
I can only imagine that everyone thinks I'm some kind of creepy weirdo now.. -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
Every time I catch sight of myself in a mirror I pull a funny face at myself to make myself laugh. As a result I have a huge repertoire of crazy faces to pull.
In the morning when I brush my teeth I snarl at myself in the mirror, but I don't do it when I brush my teeth before I go to bed.
I use different accents all the time around the house, although usually when trying to get someone's attention.
I sing songs about everything. I'll let my cat in and sing to her about how she's a cat, i'll walk upstairs and i'll have a sing about walking upstairs (the songs are usually based on the tune of other songs) -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)This.(Original post by T-Toe)
I like to read book that little know about so I have the stories all to myself
I've never mentioned my all time favourite book to anyone. As in, I don't recommend it to anyone or anything because I feel like if I don't the story is mine and no one can ruin it for me.
TIL that I'm a really sad human being...

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
Does anyone else create little stories for strangers they see out and about? For me these can range from what someone ate for breakfast, to elaborate backstories about their past or the events that have led to the situation I see them in today
They vary in extremity based on how bored I am at the time, generally -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
Okay, I have a lot of things that I do that I classify as weird, but reading some of the things on here I realised I do those too and don't consider it weird at all lol. For instance, I make a lot of lists, and I colour-code them. My sister does this too. I'll admit that our obsession with everything stationery related (rubbers, stickers, notebooks, pens) is weird lol.
If I'm tapping my fingers, I have to tap them all the same amount of times with enough force. I kinda of imagine it like a bar filling up lol.
I definitely rehearse in my head or mouth without actually speaking (I'm never home alone) conversations I'd like to have, go over arguments and think of things I could've said that were so much better, and I definitely daydream and just put myself in the middle of a story, or game, or anime, anything really, or I combine storylines and create new characters. My imagination runs away from me lol.
I do so many other things, but I can't think of them right now.
Edit: I also do that thing where I imagine people can hear my thoughts (and then think things deliberately), or are watching me. And sometimes I just wonder, what would this person do/say if I just randomly attacked them, or said something really horrible? I don't actually contemplate doing it, I just sort of mentally visualize myself drop-kicking somebody I actually get along with very well and wonder how they'd react to their good friend turning on them like that.
Edit 2: I listen to music every night before going to sleep, and when it's dark and I'm lying in bed I mouth the lyrics and pretending I'm singing it. I can never do this during the day or in public though.
Gosh. I am weird, but that appears to be normal so it's all good lolLast edited by desdemonata; 20-07-2012 at 03:09. -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)I do this, except it involves a bit more dancing around on my bed and playing air guitar. I'm not even good at it. Although I do actually do this during the day. In the street. The number of times I've been singing along to stuff and some creepy person appears from a side street or from behind a car...I've lost count.(Original post by desdemonata)

Strangely, they never give me weird looks. Except little kids, but little kids always give me weird looks.

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
I sometimes have walking races in the street with strangers. Sometimes I set the finish line (a bin, a lamppost, a particular car) too far ahead and the person is quite a fast walker and I end up pretty much sprinting to protect my undefeated record.
I have also done funny walks in corridors or dance moves/start dry-humping the air to see how long I can get away with it. Nobody has caught me yet.
One day you'll do this in front of one of those two-way mirrors.(Original post by ellieHA)

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)ME TOO! I've done this since I was about 12 I think. It's normally someone I fancy who I imagine watching me, Big Brother style. Or exes.(Original post by CloudedWithDoubt)

When it first started I remember imagining they'd fallen asleep and were dreaming what I was doing. And when I was really young I remember doing it, but people could see through my eyes instead of actually looking AT me.
It makes me stand up straight, get embarrassed if I fall over when I'm by myself and stuff, it's weird -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)Both of these made me laugh so much. Especially the second one.(Original post by Wilfred Little)

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
I talk to myself out loud whenever planning to have a discussion, job interview.
I talk to my myself like I was having the interview there and then lol.
I regularly do this randomly around the house, my parents think i'm going mad though! -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
I'll just randomly come out with quotes in a loud, theatrical voice. Sometimes I do this without realising my brother or sister has friends round. I get curious glances.
"You were quoting somebody. Auden, isn't it? "
"Was I, sir? Sometimes it just flows out, y'know, brims over!"
Because the weather has been crap lately I keep crying "Once more unto the breach!" when I open the door in the mornings. Or "I am going outside and may be some time."
I blame my dad. He does this as well. His personal favourite is quoting Silence of the Lambs.
Or Monty Python.

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)Hahaha I do this, except it's more like my house is always the finish line and I'm just seeing how many people I can overtake on the way. There's nothing like a perfectly executed overtake on someone who's going more or less the same speed as you. Sometimes it really has to be judged perfectly, lest I face the awkwardness of running out of steam when right alongside them and not completing the overtake(Original post by Wilfred Little)

I also try and guess the amount of steps it will take to get to a certain object in the distance -
Haha I do the walking race thing.(Original post by Wilfred Little)
