Sometimes when I listen to music I imagine that it's my band and I composed it, and I imagine us playing it live. That is my fantasy

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)This... then get really annoyed when said book becomes a "bestseller" and everyone starts talking about it. It was MY book first(Original post by T-Toe)
I like to read book that little know about so I have the stories all to myself

I talk to insects and negotiate with them. "don't come near me, and I won't kill you. We can happily co-exist if you respect my boundaries" and sometimes this descends into begging them. "please don't come near me, please".
If they're good, I'll give them praises and compliments so they stay. Like, "you're so understanding", "I don't mind you just sitting there", etc. This is what living alone in halls does to me :|Last edited by Preeka; 19-07-2012 at 14:39. -

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
When leaving the house or going to bed I check everything in my room that could cause an accident. I make sure all the plugs are turned off at least three or four times and check the window is closed about the same amount of times.
When I have to lock up the house I stand at the door and physically push down on the handle, which is locked, four or five times to ensure I have a mental image of the door being locked.
I have OCD like that, I could go on about how I check lots of 'important' things three or four times but you get the point... -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)Omg I literally do this ALL the time. Every time I apply make up, facial scrubs, make food etc. And when I'm in the bath or just sitting in my room I talk as if I'm being interviewed by somebody. I end up talking about anything, exams, holidays, anything. And I also experiment with different accents, usually if I've just watched a programme with people who have different accents in or something. I'm so glad someone else does it as I do it every day!(Original post by ROYP)
I often talk myself through everyday tasks as if I'm giving a tutorial to someone. The most common tutorial by far is 'having a dump' (don't ask how it goes) but it could be anything like making food, unloading the dishwasher etc. Obviously these are in my head if there are people around but I prefer to give the tutorials aloud so I can try out accents
I have more but I'd rather dish out my crazy in small chunks between other people's weird stuff so get sharing -
Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)
Have a strange need to read something while doing a number 2 on the toilet, reading the ingredients and emotive descriptions of a shampoo bottle somehow eases this discomfort when nothing else is in reach. Thank goodness for smartphones.
Also toilet related, one for guys, any skid marks left on the bowl by careless individuals beforehand, and I'm approaching for a number one, it becomes a worldly duty to clean the bowl with my whizz, I can't explain the sense of accomplishment that comes from finishing the job efficiently.Last edited by wassupjg; 19-07-2012 at 17:42. -

Another thing which I find weird is, when I’m in the company of others, I wonder if they could read my thoughts. The more I wonder, the more inappropriate my thoughts become, so I distract myself by singing a song in my head.

Re: Weird stuff you do (and wonder if other people do it too)I'm nowhere near as compromising with insects. If they're lucky they get given one chance to leave via the window or door quickly but in general my room is the end of the line.(Original post by Preeka)

I do this to. It's a little morbid, but i wonder who would mourn my death(Original post by M'Ling)
Rather darkly, I often try to imagine what would happen if I suddenly died i.e. who would get my stuff, what songs would they play at the funeral, cremation vs burial, would I haunt my family etc.
How long it would take for people to forget about me etc. These grim thoughts usually present themselves while i'm waiting in the car or sitting on the bus staring blankly out the window.
