Re: Anyone living in Singapore?Haha, welcome to Singapore?(Original post by ArushiS)
Hi all,
I've just moved to Singapore and just wondering if there are any other people on TSR in Singapore as well.
Would love to get in touch!
Drinks on me
Thanks!
There's a whole thread for Singaporeans (it's mostly for Singaporean students to study in the UK), but you can certainly ask there if you have any questions about living in Singapore! It's called the "Singapore Kopitiam." -
Re: Anyone living in Singapore?
Have you SEEN the price of alcohol over here? I've paid £15 a pint before - you quite sure you're buying???
I'll probably be around the rooftop bars in Marina Bay Sands/ 1 Raffles place (the 3 buildings with the banana on top or one of the 3 really tall buildings) this evening, come and say hi! I'll be pretending to be a western tourist

That's certainly a novel description of MBS.... not too sure if the locals will appreciate that lol.
And mind you, pints can still be quite cheap.... you just have to go to the right bar.

Re: Anyone living in Singapore?
Evil police state. I would never set foot there. This is coming from a person who would happily swan around in Zimbabwe or North Korea because I generally don't give a **** about the political ethics of a country. But something about Singapore has hit a nerve. Perhaps it's because Zimbabwe and NK are such comical dictatorships that it's almost laughable and one just has to go and experience it because our country would never be like that. Singapore however pretends to be a modern progressive country but in reality is a totalitarian state therefore going there and experiencing it would be a taste of what could happen in Britain one day. Chilling.

Re: Anyone living in Singapore?I believe anywhere near Equinox or Mink will get close to 30 bucks, no?(Original post by ClassicJuice)
Which tourist trap were you at? I've spent more than 20 years in Singapore and I've not paid anything close to £15 for a pint. -
