Re: How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Personally I've found being single and being in item with someone is like forbidden fruit. When your single you long all day to have someone and when you've got a girlfriend everything is rosy for a few weeks until you start to get sick of it and can't wait to be single again. But as someone who listens to a lot of music I can see why people would feel inclined to want a relationship.

Re: How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend?I'll pre warn you that there's no point trying to encourage her... She won't listen.(Original post by Flyteryder)
I do that, but I've had boyfriends before. It will happen for you.
Anyway, I'm just not that bothered. I'd probably find it hard if I met a girl I REALLY liked. Since there's no one I'd particularly like to be with, I'm not upset that I'm not with anyone at the mo

Re: How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend? Its songs and movies like that, that I really hate about our society. They make you feel like "love" is the be all and end all of everything. Of course, relationships are great and everything, but only if you truly like the person and aren't just dating them because its "the thing to do." Remember that relationships are also usually extremely hard work. I would never be in a relationship just because its thought as as the right thing to do in life. If I'm single forever, then so be it. I'd rather be single and happy, than in a relationship and unhappy. Also, I don't believe in dating someone you're no generally attracted to and aren't ever going to develop feelings for. A few of my friends have asked me out, and I've politely said "no" just because I know that I only view them as a friend, and even though they might be hurt at the time, I know I would hurt them more if i'd dating them without having feelings for them in the long run. If you really feel like you want to get into a relationship, then ask a few people on a few dates, but don't immediately jump on the first guy who gives you attention just because you want a boyfriend. A lot of people who've been in relationships will tell you though, that more often than not they're not everything they're cracked up to be.YOU DONT HAVE TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP TO BE HAPPY!(Original post by Flyteryder)
I'm 18 and I really should have a boyfriend right now, but I don't. 99% of songs I listen to are about love, so music depresses me! How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend? -

Re: How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend? Most of them I know are like that(Original post by brendonbackflip)
I remember the reason I don't have a boyfriend is mainly to do with the fact that most of the boys I know often make me feel sick when I hear them speak.
But then there's the few who make me melt and make me wish

You're only 18!! That's the best age to be single!! Trust me, be single for now and enjoy it. Relationships come with unnecessary baggage and can also be bad for you emotionally if the person isn't who you made them out to be!
Moral of the story.. STAY SINGLE AND ENJOY LIFE
Just have flings tbh, =]

Re: How do you deal with not having a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Most of the time I just accept it, but if I feel like I want a girlfriend, I often watch videos of couples (vloggers, such as CTFXC or Shaytards), quite sad I know.
When I was rather desperate a while back, I imagined myself being in a relationship with the only girl to date who has fancied me (in year 10), after initially leading her on I morally pulled the plug on her because I was only showing interest as I liked her for the concept of having a girlfriend.
I hope my act gives me positive karma when it comes to uni girls in October 2013 lol -
